British Grand Prix 2026: Schedule, How to Watch & Odds to Win

British Grand Prix 2026 guide including the full Silverstone schedule, TV coverage, latest odds, favourites to win and how to watch live in the UK.

The Formula 1 season heads to its spiritual home this weekend as Silverstone hosts the 2026 British Grand Prix, one of the sport's most iconic races. As Round 9 of the season and the fourth Sprint weekend of the year, both championship battles are beginning to gather momentum.

Mercedes arrive as the team to beat after a dominant start to the campaign. Rookie sensation Kimi Antonelli leads the Drivers' Championship ahead of teammate George Russell, while Mercedes have won seven of the opening eight races. Lando Norris returns to his home race as the reigning British Grand Prix winner and world champion, while Lewis Hamilton will hope to build on his recent victory in Barcelona following his switch to Ferrari.

Silverstone remains one of Formula 1's fastest and most demanding circuits, with legendary corners such as Maggots, Becketts and Copse rewarding bravery and precision. However, the new 2026 power unit regulations have introduced a fresh tactical element, with battery deployment and energy management expected to play a much bigger role. Drivers including Norris, Hamilton and Max Verstappen have all suggested the circuit may no longer be quite as flat-out as in previous years, adding another intriguing dimension to one of the highlights of the Formula 1 calendar.

Who is the Favourite to Win the British Grand Prix?

Mercedes have dominated the opening phase of the new regulations, winning seven of the opening eight races, and unsurprisingly the Silver Arrows head into their home race with the strongest hand in the betting.

Championship leader Kimi Antonelli heads to Silverstone as the bookmakers' favourite after a remarkable start to life under Formula 1's new regulations. The Mercedes youngster has won five races already this season and continues to lead both the Drivers' Championship and the betting markets.

His biggest threat could come from teammate George Russell, who arrives full of confidence following victory in Austria. Russell has traditionally performed well at Silverstone and will be desperate to deliver another home victory for Mercedes in front of the British fans.

How to Watch the British Grand Prix?

UK viewers can watch every session of the British Grand Prix live on Sky Sports F1, with coverage beginning before each on-track session throughout the weekend. The race is also available via NOW for streaming customers. Highlights of qualifying and Sunday's race will also be shown on Channel 4.

British Grand Prix Prediction

Silverstone has traditionally rewarded drivers with confidence through its high-speed corners, but the 2026 regulations have altered the challenge considerably, with energy management expected to play a much bigger role than in previous years. Even so, Mercedes remain the benchmark team entering the weekend.

Antonelli's consistency throughout the opening half of the season makes him the deserved favourite, but with sprint qualifying, a Sprint race and unpredictable British weather all capable of influencing Sunday's grid, there should be no shortage of drama before the chequered flag falls at Silverstone.
