What are the odds for UFC 249? Who are the biggest favourites and biggest underdogs?

The UFC is full steam ahead next weekend...

Dana White’s persistence to plod ahead with live UFC shows has resulted in a monster card next weekend (May 9th), featuring two title fights, a glittering main card and a bonkers undercard.

But who is fighting at UFC 249? What are the bookmakers saying just over a week from the action?

Oddschecker has taken a look at some of the key match-ups ahead of the action in Florida.

What are the odds?

Tony Ferguson was scheduled to go off as an underdog to previous planned opponent Khabib Nurmagomedov but is now favourite to beat replacement Justin Gaethje.

T-Ferg is strong in the market at 4/7, with Gaethje coming in at 17/10 best price to scoop a huge victory in the main event.

Another tantalising clash in the flyweight division sees Olympic wrestler Henry Cejudo an odds-on favourite (1/2) to defend his belt against the experienced Dominic Cruz (2/1).

The terrifying Francis N’Gannou is well fancied at 4/11 to defeat the in-form Jairzinho Rozenstruk, in a fight that almost certainly won’t reach the final bell.

Controversial former American Football star Greg Hardy makes the main card, and is 6/11 to get one over on Yorgan De Castro (11/8).

Two UFC veterans meet when Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone (6/5) and Anthony Pettis (8/11) face-off, whilst Calvin Kattar (4/9) takes on Jeremy Stephens (9/4).

Who are the biggest favourites?

At the time of writing (30/04/2020), the biggest favourite on the card is one of the very first fights.

Ryan Spann is currently 1/4 to beat vet Sam Alvey, who is consequently the biggest underdog on the night at 13/4

Elsewhere, Francis Ngannou has been touted by bookies to make a strong showing and is 4/11 to beat his competitor Jairzinho Rosenstruk (5/2).

Are there any underdogs worth considering?

Here, we need to look no further than one of the most entertaining fighters in the history of the sport, Jeremy Stephens.

The underdog tag is not one that Stephens is unfamiliar with, having one of the most illustrious careers in the UFC.

He’s value to fight for your money at 9/4 despite his run of losses, having taken on formidable opponents in Yair Rodriguez and Zabit Magmomedshapirov.
