UFC 294 Odds: How to Bet on Makhachev vs Volkanovski, Chimaev vs Usman

Check out how to bet on UFC 294 this weekend!

UFC 294 is here and after weeks of anticipation ahead of these two newly scheduled main events, it is time to crown the winners.

The UFC heads to Abu Dhabu tonight, so we are going to get different times that we normally would if a card was in America, but that means an earlier night for UFC fans in the UK!

The Main Event sees Islam Makhachev take on Alexander Volkanovski for the second time this year, with the former handing Volkanovski his first loss in the UFC back in February.

That was Volkanovski’s first fight at Lightweight and he held his own in the title fight. Makhachev is expected to win again, but will he impress more than last time?

Preceding that fight is the matchup between Khazmat Chimaev and Kamaru Usman who is stepping up to Middleweight for the first time, after a Hall of Fame career at Welterweight.

Can Usman bounce back from two straight losses to Leon Edwards, by stepping up to fight a bigger fighter for the first time? It seems like a tough task at this point in his career, and one he’s expected to struggle with.

Check out the latest odds for UFC 294 here, and see what the bookmakers think of these four fighters’ chances ahead of a huge fight night.

UFC 294 Odds

Islam Makhachev and Khamzat Chimaev are both favourites as they fight in their natural weight classes, against two fighters that are yet to prove it in their class.

Alexander Volkanovski’s one fight at Lightweight came against Makhachev which he lost in February, whereas this is the first time Kamaru Usman will fight at Middleweight, giving him the unfamiliar feeling of being the smaller fighter.

Also, on the card are fights between Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker, Ikram Aliskero and Warlley Alves, and Said Nurmagomedov vs Muin Gafurov.

This fight card is dominated by Russian fighters, and they all come into this UFC 294 card in Abu Dhabi as strong favourites for their individual fights.

Makhachev vs Volkanovski 2 Betting Odds

The bookmakers are not interested in taking a chance on the UFC Lightweight Champion, and instead make Makhachev the odds-on favourite to defend his title.

Volkanovski certainly gave him a run in the first matchup and will surely have a go again, as he looks to prove capable beyond the Featherweight Division which he dominates.

Check out the best and worst odds for the Makhachev vs Volkanovski rematch below.

Result Best Odds Worst Odds
Islam Makhachev Win 5/12 4/11
Draw 66/1 33/1
Alexander Volkanovski Win 36/17 3/1

According to his best odds, Islam Makhachev has a 70.6% chance of winning this fight, as he looks for back-to-back wins over his opponent.

Alexander Volkanovski has a 32.1% chance of winning at his current best odds, and is not expected to win here, despite his obvious credentials and recent win over Yair Rodriguez at his natural Featherweight class.

Chimaev vs Usman Betting Odds

In a similar situation to the Main Event, the bookmakers are keeping Khamzat Chimaev on side, as they know Usman has got to make a jump up in weight for the first time, coming off back-to-back losses to Leon Edwards at Welterweight.

Chimaev has only been fighting professionally since 2018, and only in the UFC since 2020, but he is unbeaten in that time. Wins over Gilbert Burns and Kevin Holland are good indicators of what he can be, but Kamaru Usman is the biggest name he has faced, even if he is a smaller fighter.

Check out the best and worst odds for the Chimaev vs Usman fight below.

Result Best Odds Worst Odds
Khamzat Chimaey Win 1/3 2/7
Draw 66/1 33/1
Kamaru Usman Win 11/4 9/4

According to the odds, Khamzat Chimaev is being given a 75% chance of winning this fight, a stronger favourite than even Islam Makhachev in the Main Event.

It is no surprise to see Kamaru Usman as the underdog as he steps up in weight for the first time and is fighting on short notice. Unlike Volkanovski we have no evidence of how he will fight at this level, and that is why he’s available at seemingly long odds.

At a best price of 11/4, Kamaru Usman is being given a 26.7% chance of winning by the bookmakers.

UFC Predictions, Tips

Whilst the two main events are expected to go to the favourites and in Chimaev’s case we agree, we do think Alexander Volkanovski can cause an upset.

Islam Makhachev has been preparing for Charles Oliveira in camp, and Volkanovski gave him a good fight last time, so we are going to take a shot at Volkanovski ending this fight early, with his superior striking.

Tip:

Alexander Volkanovski to win by KO, TKO, DQ (5/1)
