Rob Handley has high hopes for England in the first game of this three match T20 series
After finally winning a game on the tour England now move onto the T20’s. As is the modern way under Andrew Strauss, the tourists will be more competitive in the shortest format of the game with quality throughout the side. Roy and Billings look competent at the top with many of the England’s batsmen feeling more at home in this format. With a point to prove as well as plenty of fire power, England look well worth an investment at 6/5.
Many of this England side have been plying their trade in the Big Bash and Chris Jordan is one of those guys. Playing for the Adelaide Strikers he was in the top two bowlers in all of his games and looked up there with the best in this format. With an array of slower balls and an ability to bowl yorkers at will, he is always candidate to take wickets. At 4/1 to top the England bowling, he’s well worth backing.
As mentioned previously, Sam Billings looked more than capable at international level and is probably one of the unluckiest international cricketers on the circuit. Being an IPL player that doesn’t get in his international side isn’t too common. Now he has his chance in conditions which aren’t foreign to him, we can expect some typically expansive and inventive stroke play from the Kent man, who I am tipping to cement his place in the side this series. He is 11/4 with Ladbrokes to score a 50 or for those without a Ladbrokes account, 9/2 to top the England batting which are both sound bets.
