Dave Chisnall v Kim Huybrechts
Chizzy just about squeaked through his last match but my word did he leave himself a lot to do. Huybrechts won't allow him off the hook as easily, and in my mind put in the performance of the round with his demolition job.
It's been a tournament full of upsets and I'm backing another one here. Huybrechts scoring power will almost keep him up with Chisnall but the Belgian is better on the doubles. If Chizzy starts going wayward, then Huybrechts can punish. Forza the Hurricane.
Ryan Searle v William O'Connor
Bookies can barely split these two, and neither can I. The odds for a long game are ludicrously short, but I think I've found value on the 180s market.
You can get evens on over 10.5 and it looks good to me. While both aren't exactly renowned for their heavy scoring, the longer format and closeness of the pair should allow ample opportunity for the bet to go over. If you pushed me for a pick, I'd say O'Connor, but the former bet is what I'm sticking to.
Gary Anderson v Jermaine Wattimena
Speaking of scoring power... These two should produce fireworks and I cannot wait. We all know I'm firmly in the Anderson corner, but I think the Dutchman will play better than last time out and Gary needs to be careful.
But again it's the 180s market I'm going down and I thought we'd see higher lines than there are. In particular, over 11.5 looks cracking at odds against, if Wattimena plays how I expect we could easily see 5 or 6 sets. If so, that works out at 2 a set: Gary could do that on his own!
