Benito van de Pas v Brendan Dolan

Blimey - one of these will be a World Championship quarter finalist! Big Ben is the worst player in the last 16 on current form, and I'm sure he'd agree with me. But here he is, and Dolan is a challenge he can overcome, but he has to show something better than last night.

His scoring was okay in patches but his doubling was all over the shop. Dolan by contrast has relied on some expert checkouts, none more so than that 170 last week. Bizzarely, van de Pas was hitting ton-plus checkouts for fun last, despite not hitting much else! It's that reason I'm backing Benito for the highest checkout.

I do think that Dolan will get over the line, however, so I'm complementing the above with a small bet on 4-2.

Van De Pas highest checkout - 2pts @ 9/8
4-2 Dolan - 1pt @ 9/2

Ryan Searle v Michael Smith

The following text isn't a slight on Searle in any way: We need more Heavy Metal loving blokes in darts and he's done brilliantly to get as far as he has. But I was mightily impressed by Smith yesterday, he looked like he could turn it on at will against Henderson and is justifying the 'Dark Horse' tag.

No one seems to be winning games at a canter this year but I do think that Smith gets through and gets through playing well. There's no value in the correct score or win markets, but the match treble is just about generous enough at 6/5.

Smith Match Treble - 2pts @ 6/5

Jamie Lewis v Dave Chisnall

What a great little game this is! We all know about Lewis now after his exploits this and last year. But it's refreshing to see Chizzy playing well and getting to the latter stages here, in my mind he's right up there with Mervyn King and Terry Jenkins as one of the best players never to win a PDC major.

Chizzy is the slight favourite, which shows how far Lewis has come to be honest. I'm shocked at how close they are in the 180 scoring over the last couple of games, but it means the prices are close together for most 180s and that's good for us. Its not often you'll see Chisnall as big as 4/5 for most 180s in a game, go for it!

Chisnall most 180s - 1pt @ 4/5
