Luke Humphries v Gerwyn Price

Some of the contenders so far have been impressive (Chris Dobey), others less so. I think here, the crowd may be on Humphries side, but that’s only because he’s against the biggest pantomime villain in Darts since Peter Manley!

Price is in the form of his career, and scooped two pro tour events in succession last week. He’s odds-on but nowhere near as short as the 4/7 I would make him. Put the Iceman in to get the ball rolling.

Gerwyn Price - 2pts @ 8/11

Daryl Gurney v Rob Cross

I was to-ing and fro-ing about this one – until I saw the prices. Gurney has bounced back from his opening night defeat with two good performances, including two highest weekly checkouts.

His ton and ton fourty stats are much higher than Cross’ to date, and if his doubling is on point then I think that the Northern Irishman gets the better of the former World Champ, who needs to show much more than what he did against MVG. 9/5 is a great price for ‘Superchin’.

Daryl Gurney - 1pt @ 9/5

Michael Smith v Raymond van Barneveld

Last week you’d have hit the target (just) going for the Barney double chance and I’m picking the same thing tonight. Smith is struggling with leg and groin issues but has vowed to play tonight on antibiotics.

Barney has been playing some low average stuff, but has hung around in games and capitalised on mistakes. Smith hasn’t hit a ton average yet this tournament and is vulnerable, especially with his injuries. Odds-against is definitely tempting enough.

Barneveld/Draw Double Chance - 1pt @ 6/5
