Premier League Darts Night 5

In what has become a familiar theme over the opening month of the 2024 Premier League Darts, Michael van Gerwen made it a hat-trick of nightly wins with a 6-4 victory over Nathan Aspinall in Newcastle last Thursday.

As such, the seven-time champion has raced into an eight-point lead at the top of the table and is already looking nailed on to finish in the top four.

Can Mighty Mike claim a record-breaking fourth consecutive nightly win in Exeter?

Premier League Darts Night 5 Predictions

Night 5 kicks off with Luke Humphries going up against Michael van Gerwen. Given MVG’s dominance of late, the Dutchman looks difficult to dismiss at 4/5 on BetMGM.

Despite being runner-up last week, Nathan Aspinall looks too skinny at 8/11 against fast-improving Peter Wright. Gerwyn Price beat Rob Cross 6-2 on Night 1 but their latest clash should be a lot closer than the bookmakers’ odds suggest.

And finally it’s second versus third as Luke Littler meets Michael Smith. Littler is a best price of 8/15 on BetVictor but this high-scoring duel could go the distance.

Who is the Night 5 Premier League Darts favourite?

Michael van Gerwen is at the head of the betting for Night 5 in and it’s hardly surprising given his scintillating form across the last three weeks.

If MVG can see off Luke Humphries, he would then have a favourable semi-final tie against either Nathan Aspinall or Peter Wright.

The Green Machine could take some stopping in Exeter and beyond.

Premier League Darts Night 5 Tips

Luke Littler vs Michael Smith - Over 9.5 Legs @ 6/5 Paddy Power

Instead of siding with either Luke Littler or Michael Smith, there looks to be some value in opting for Over 9.5 Legs at 6/5 on Paddy Power.

The previous meeting between the pair on week one went to an 11th and final leg decider.

In fact, a sizable seven of Littler’s opening eight Premier League fixtures have featured 10+ legs, while the same play has proven profitable in six of Smith’s seven outings so far.

Luke Littler vs Michael Smith - 170 Check-Out @ 13/1 Paddy Power

After reeling in ‘The Big Fish’ last week, there is plenty of scope for Luke Littler to repeat the trick in Exeter. Michael Smith also likes to tee up the highest check-out in darts so the 13/1 on Paddy Power on either player landing a 170 looks worthy of a long shot.

As always, make sure you shop around for the best price on oddschecker as this same selection is as short as 5/1 with another bookmaker.
