Premier League Darts Finals Night

Last week, Michael Smith secured progress to this year's Premier League Darts showpiece by seeing off Nathan Aspinall in a make-or-break clash before going on to win the final night of the league phase.

That means Bully Boy will be back to battle it out for the big prize this week alongside Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Michael van Gerwen.

Smith will lock horns with teenage sensation Luke Littler in the opening semi-final tie of the night, while world champion Luke Humphries will meet Michael van Gerwen, who will be looking to lift the Premier League trophy for a record-breaking eighth time.

Premier League Darts Playoff Predictions

Luke Littler and Michael Smith kick off proceedings in the capital in what promises to be a heavy-scoring showdown.

While 2/5 favourite Littler topped the league table with a joint-record points tally of 40, Smith’s recent dominance in this fixture could give him the psychological edge.

Bully Boy came out on top in four of the five meetings between the pair during the regular season, the most recent of which was a 6-5 success in Sheffield last Thursday. As such, this clash should be much closer than the pre-match odds suggest.

The second-semi-final sees Luke Humphries go up against Michael van Gerwen.

Cool Hand Luke finished one place and six points above the Dutchman, not to mention he has taken top honours from each of the last six meetings between the duo across all competitions, four of which were in this year’s Premier League.

However, Michael van Gerwen tends to turn up to the Premier League party when it matters most, with the Dutch destroyer triumphing in each of the last two editions, and his total of seven titles is unsurpassed.

While MVG has been over the Premier League course and distance more than anyone else, the form book is hard to ignore, and it certainly favours a Humphries victory at 1/2 on William Hill.

Who is the favourite to win the 2024 Premier League Darts?

Luke Humphries, who has lifted four of the last six major titles that have been up for grabs, is the bookmakers' favourite to clinch the Premier League crown in what is his debut campaign.

Fellow newbie Luke Littler is the 2/1 second-favourite on Betfair, while defending Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen has been priced up at 4/1 on bet365.

Michael Smith appears to have been unfairly written off by the bookmakers, with Bully Boy as big as 6/1 on AK Bets to secure a maiden Premier League title.

Premier League Darts Tips for the Playoffs

Luke Littler 2+ D10 Checkouts vs Michael Smith @ 10/11 on Sky Bet

Luke Littler is pretty deadly on Double 10 so the 10/11 Bet Builder on Sky Bet for the Nuke to nail 2+ D10 Checkouts against Michael Smith looks too big to ignore.

The Nuke loves to leave himself on this particular double and he should get plenty of opportunities for a pop at it in a best-of-19-leg tie.

Luke Humphries 4+ D16/8 Checkouts vs Michael van Gerwen @ 5/4 Sky Bet

I’m quite happy to follow a similar avenue of attack in the night’s second semi-final tie by backing Luke Humphries to have 4+ D16/8 Checkouts in the match at 5/4 on Sky Bet.

Cool Hand Luke finishes on the left hand side of the board more often than not so a combined total of four or more checkouts on either Double 16 or Double 8 should give us a good run for our money.

Luke Littler vs Michael Smith - 170 Check-Out @ 8/1 Paddy Power

Given that both Luke Littler and Michael Smith have a habit of teeing up the highest checkout in darts, the 8/1 on Paddy Power on either arrowsmith taking out a 170 looks worthy of a long shot. This same selection is as short as 9/2 with other bookmakers.
