World Cup of Darts

36 teams will compete in the group stage of the 2025 World Cup of Darts, with the 12 section winners going on to join seeded nations England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland in the second round of the competition. 

England are the reigning champions after defeating Austria in last year's final to claim a record-breaking fifth title. Luke Humphries - who lifted the trophy alongside Michael Smith 12 months ago -  will have teenage sensation Luke Littler by his side this time around.

 

World Cup of Darts Schedule

Rankings for the 40 teams at the tournament are determined by the joint-rankings of the players - the top two from each nation based on the PDC's Order of Merit as of 7th May.

As we know, the four top-ranked nations - England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland - have therefore received a bye into the second round. 

The 36 nations in the group stage have been split into 12 round-robin groups of three (played across 12-13 June), with the group winners advancing to the second round.

This means Littler and Humphries will need to win four matches to retain the title for England - the last 16 on Saturday before a possible quarter-final, semi-final and final on Sunday 15th June.

 

World Cup of Darts Predictions

With the world's top-two ranked players representing them, England have understandably been installed as heavy odds-on favourites at a best price of 1/2 on Unibet. 

Humphries and Littler have been the two standout players on the PDC circuit over the last two years. If they maintain their recent levels of form, it’s difficult to oppose them going all the way in Frankfurt this weekend.

According to the pre-tournament odds, England’s main rivals for the title will be Wales, who have been priced up at 11/2 on Unibet. 

The Welsh pairing of Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton have guided their country to World Cup glory on two occasions and they look the biggest threat to England’s bid for back-to-back titles.

Elsewhere, fellow two-time winners Scotland’s hopes will rest on the shoulders of Gary Anderson and Peter Wright. The Scottish duo - who reached the 2023 final - are as big as 14/1 on BoyleSports to lift the trophy.

With Dimitri Van den Bergh and Mike De Decker teaming up for the first time, Belgium’ could also force their way into contention, and are worth some consideration as a dark horse selection at best odds of 28/1 on Betfred.

England To Win the World Cup 1/2 @ Unibet

While it may not be the most attractive of prices, it’s hard to look past England in their pursuit of back-to-back World Cup titles at 1/2 on Unibet.

Luke Humphries and Luke Littler have been in a class of their own in recent years and if the pair click into gear then they should take the top prize. It's also worth noting that the same selection is as short as 2/5 with other bookmakers.

Wales To Win the World Cup 11/2 (each-way) @ Unibet

Wales have the experience and pedigree needed to push England to their limits in this year’s World Cup. Welsh duo Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton have featured in three of the last five finals, so there would appear to be plenty of value in supporting them as an each way selection at 11/2 with Unibet.
