The PDC World Darts Championship rolls on at Alexandra Palace on Day 7, with the first round continuing and four more matches set to decide places in round two across another compelling day of action.

The spotlight will fall on two of the sport’s most decorated names, as 2007 world champion and crowd favourite Raymond van Barneveld makes his tournament bow against Switzerland’s Stefan Bellmont, while five-time major winner James Wade follows him onto the Ally Pally stage to take on Japan’s Ryusei Azemoto.

There is also interest earlier in the day as German number one Martin Schindler enters the event.

Matt Campbell vs Adam Sevada - Matt Campbell to Win

Best price of 8/11 available with Betfred at the time of publishing

A mainstay at the World Darts Championships this decade, Matt Campbell will rely on his experience to get the better of newcomer Adam Sevada in Wednesday night’s opening clash. The Canadian arrowsmith, nicknamed the Ginja Ninja, has notched several notable wins at the Ally Pally in recent years.

Campbell caused an upset by defeating James Wade en route to the third round two years ago, and he also overcame seasoned campaigner Mensur Suljovic in the first round last year.

Sevada, on the other hand, will be making his World Darts Championship debut on Wednesday night, and his journey is unlikely to extend beyond round one.

Available at a best price of 8/11 with Betfred, Campbell looks well worth backing to hit the ground running.

Raymond van Barneveld vs Stefan Bellmont - Stefan Bellmont +2.5 Handicap

Best price of 2/7 with Bet365 at the time of publishing

Raymond van Barneveld looks like a vulnerable favourite in his round one clash with Stefan Bellmont on Wednesday night. Barney is no longer the force of old and has struggled to make an impact on the big stage for a number of years now.

The legendary Dutchman was knocked out in the second round of last year’s World Darts Championship by Nick Kenny, barely got past Cor Dekker in his opener at this year’s World Series Finals and then fell at the first hurdle to Krzysztof Ratajski at last month’s Players Championship Finals

Bellmont, meanwhile, may be making just his second appearance at the Ally Pally, but he should arrive with plenty of confidence after beating James Wade at last month’s Grand Slam of Darts. Backing the Swiss arrowsmith with a +2.5 handicap looks a solid call.

James Wade vs Ryusei Azemoto - James Wade 3-0

Best price of 11/8 available with UniBet at the time of publishing

As the pre-match odds suggest, James Wade should see off Ryusei Azemoto with minimal fuss on Wednesday night.

With runner-up finishes at this year’s UK Open and World Matchplay, plus several televised quarter-final appearances throughout 2025, experienced campaigner Wade will be targeting a deep run at this year’s World Darts Championship.

The Machine's consistent scoring and sharp finishes, paired with his knack for exploiting mistakes, spells trouble for Japanese outsider Azemoto.

With Wade too short to back as a single, we can boost the price on the Aldershot ace to win without dropping a set to a more attractive 11/8 on UniBet.
