The PDC World Darts Championship moves into the fourth round at Alexandra Palace on Tuesday, with the final eight Last 16 places on the line across a high-quality day of action.

The evening session is headlined by a blockbuster between Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson, two former world champions who clashed in a thriller at last month’s Grand Slam, before world No 2 Luke Humphries faces Kevin Doets.

Elsewhere under the lights, rising star Charlie Manby continues his eye-catching debut campaign against title contender Gian van Veen, a matchup that could become a familiar feature in the latter stages of major tournaments.

The afternoon session also delivers plenty of intrigue, with Jonny Clayton taking on Andreas Harrysson, Luke Woodhouse meeting Krzysztof Ratajski and Josh Rock facing Justin Hood, as the race to reach the quarter-finals gathers momentum at Ally Pally.

World Darts Championship Day 17 Accumulator @12/5 - StarSports

Luke Woodhouse vs Krzysztof Ratajski

Leg 1: Luke Woodhouse vs Krzysztof Ratajski - Over 5.5 Sets @4/6 (AKBets)

Luke Woodhouse’s clash with Krzysztof Ratajski is arguably the toughest of all the round four ties to call.

Woodhouse delivered one of the best performances of his career when cruising to a dominant 4-1 win over Andrew Gilding in round three, while Ratajski showed incredible resilience by coming back from 3-1 down to edge out Wesley Plaisier 4-3.

With both players now fighting for a spot in the last eight, a nervy and tight contest could be on the cards.

Much like Ratajski’s win over Plaisier, there’s every chance this one could go all the way, so over 5.5 sets holds plenty of appeal.

Jonny Clayton vs Andreas Harrysson

Leg 2: Jonny Clayton vs Andreas Harrysson - Jonny Clayton Win @2/7 (William Hill)

Jonny Clayton’s clash with Andreas Harrysson is likely to be closer than the pre-match odds suggest, however, the Welshman’s greater big stage experience could give him the edge in his bid to make the quarter-finals. The Ferret survived a nail-biting battle with Niels Zonneveld in round three, but that should stand him in good stead against surprise package Harrysson.

While the Swedish star has already seen off some notable names, including Ross Smith and Ricardo Pietreczko to reach this stage on debut, a clash with Clayton will represent his toughest test to date.

Clayton’s major tournament pedigree could prove decisive, not to mention he has the added incentive of securing a place in the Premier League by breaking into the top four in the PDC’s Order of Merit.

Michael van Gerwen vs Gary Anderson

Leg 3: Michael van Gerwen vs Gary Anderson - Over 5.5 Sets @4/6 (BetMGM)

Michael van Gerwen faces Gary Anderson in what promises to be a blockbuster fourth round showdown at the World Darts Championship on Tuesday. MVG produced a vintage display to make light work of Arno Merk with a 4-1 victory in round three, while Anderson rolled back the years to get past Jermaine Wattimena with a 4-3 success in an Ally Pally classic.

With both players in top form, this has all the makings of a real back-and-forth shootout, with over 5.5 sets looking well worthy of support. With the bookmakers struggling to separate the legendary duo, all the signs point towards this heavyweight showdown going the distance.
