Luke Littler has made a slow start to the 2026 Premier League, but it’s surely only a matter of time before he begins climbing the table. The teenage sensation sits third from bottom in the standings, having collected just four points across the opening three nights of action. However, he will head to Belfast in high spirits, having returned to his brilliant best to lift the inaugural Poland Darts Open title at the weekend.
Littler also has the added incentive of seeking revenge on Jonny Clayton, who hammered him 6-1 in Glasgow last week. The Ferret has made a flying start to his Premier League campaign, but toppling Littler two weeks in a row will be a tall order.
Stephen Bunting vs Luke Humphries - Luke Humphries Win
Much like Luke Littler, reigning Premier League champion Luke Humphries has yet to find his rhythm across the opening three nights of action. However, Cool Hand did pick up a couple of points by getting the better of Josh Rock in Glasgow last week, and he looks well placed to add to his tally at the expense of another struggler in the shape of Stephen Bunting.
Bunting has yet to break his duck this season, suffering his third straight defeat in a 6-3 loss to Gian van Veen last Thursday. The Bullet was then comprehensively beaten by Humphries at the Poland Darts Open last weekend, going down 6-1. That result doesn’t bode well for their latest encounter in Belfast this week, and it could potentially give Humphries a psychological edge.
Michael van Gerwen vs Gerwyn Price - Over 8.5 Total Legs
Michael van Gerwen’s clash with Gerwyn Price is arguably the toughest of Thursday night’s four quarter-final ties to call. MVG impressed during the opening two weeks of action, but his absence last Thursday due to illness raises questions over how he will perform this week, while Price has been inconsistent across the first three nights.
With neither player holding strong appeal in the outright betting, instead look for this clash to feature more than 8.5 legs. The pair have already met in this season’s Premier League, with that contest producing over 8.5 legs, and the same was true in three of their four encounters during the 2025 edition of the tournament.
Gian van Veen vs Josh Rock - Gian van Veen Win
Gian van Veen could play the role of party pooper by spoiling Josh Rock’s homecoming in Belfast on Thursday night. I’d be surprised if we don’t see one of the two Lukes reach the Belfast final, but the value clearly lies with Luke Humphries at a best price of 4/1 on Betway. Cool Hand has performed better than his points tally suggests, averaging a league-high 102.63 over the first three nights. It’s also worth noting that all three of his defeats have gone to last-leg deciders, so if Humphries can sharpen up on his doubles, then a weekly triumph shouldn’t be far off.
This week, Humphries will be confident of getting past Stephen Bunting in his opener. A semi-final against Luke Littler or Jonny Clayton would be no walk in the park, but Humphries is more than capable of standing firm - and if he comes through, he could face Gerwyn Price or Gian van Veen in the final, and he’d do so with confidence and momentum firmly on his side.
Gian van Veen To Win Night 4
On the opposite side of the bracket, Gian van Veen looks like a strong contender to secure his first weekly victory, priced at best odds of 13/2 with Ladbrokes.
The Giant has taken to the Premier League with effortless ease in his debut campaign, reaching the final on two of the opening three nights - including last Thursday in Glasgow. He followed that up with a runner-up finish at the Poland Darts Open on Sunday, strengthening the sense that his first weekly Premier League crown is just around the corner.
An opening clash with Josh Rock presents a prime opportunity to reach the semi-finals, where van Veen would back himself against either Gerwyn Price or Michael van Gerwen. Should the Dutchman carve out another route to the final, his sternest examination would likely lie in wait - but he will not be intimidated by any opponent, and he possesses the firepower to bank top honours in Belfast.
