World Grand Prix Darts Tips: Round Two Accumulator for Wednesday

The second round of the World Grand Prix begins on Wednesday night in Leicester. Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen both went out in round one, so the draw is wide open. With four last-16 ties from 7pm on Sky Sports, we've put together a four-fold backing Ryan Joyce, Wessel Nijman, Gerwyn Price and Nathan Aspinall.

Ryan Joyce to beat Danny Noppert

Joyce is the outsider of the four, but the numbers back him. He has already knocked out Michael van Gerwen, and he leads the head-to-head with Noppert 6-1. That is hard to ignore when a match can turn on a handful of legs.

Noppert is ranked eighth in the world and has reached quarter-finals at the UK Open, the World Open and in Antwerp, so he is the rightful favourite. But Joyce has repeatedly found a way past him, and Joyce is 11/8. That is too big for a player with this record against his opponent.

Wessel Nijman to beat Jonny Clayton

Nijman is the best finisher on the tour this year. His 44.05% doubles percentage is the highest in the PDC in 2026, and that matters in a double-in, double-out format where every leg starts with a double.

He has also been prolific away from the TV stages. He has won six Players Championships and two European Tour events this season. The obvious concern is his major record. He has never reached a PDC major quarter-final and has lost five times at the last-16 stage, including a narrow defeat to Van Veen at the Matchplay.

Clayton is a formidable opponent. He won this title in 2021, reached the semi-finals in 2025 and leads the head-to-head 3-1. Both men scored in the low 80s in round one, though, and Clayton needed three sets to beat Ratajski while Nijman won his match in straight sets. Nijman is around 4/5, and we think that price is fair for the form guide.

Gerwyn Price to beat Ross Smith

This is a rematch of the World Series of Darts Finals final, which Smith won. The head-to-head is level at 7-7 after 14 meetings, and Smith has beaten Price at the last two events.

We still lean Price. He was the sharper scorer in round one, with an average of 101.61 in a 2-0 win over Bialecki, against Smith's 99.54 in a 2-1 win over Menzies. Price also won this title in 2020, and he has the more comfortable route through the double-in requirement. He is 5-1 second favourite for the outright behind Luke Humphries. He looks the more likely of two evenly matched players to win a first-to-three-sets match.

This is the leg most likely to go the distance, so it's the riskiest in the acca.

Nathan Aspinall to beat Luke Woodhouse

Woodhouse has plenty going for him after beating Littler and winning two PDC titles in May. Some tipsters rate him overpriced at 13/10.

We're sticking with Aspinall because of the head-to-head. Aspinall has won their last six meetings, and Woodhouse's only wins came in 2013 and 2019. His recent form has been patchy, including a 10-9 defeat to Littler in the World Series, and he has only once gone past the second round in his last six World Grand Prix appearances. That makes him the leg most likely to let the acca down. The longer best-of-five format gives the more experienced player extra time to recover from a slow start, which is why he is our final selection.
