January – Djokovic to win the Australian Open

Starting off with the first tennis major of the year and I am going with Novak Djokovic at a fairly short price. Djokovic returned to the top of his game in the second half of last season and he is set to dominate the hard court tournaments in 2019 ahead of an ageing Federer and a battle-scarred Nadal. 

February – Los Angeles Rams to win the Super Bowl

Best price 11/2, Worst price 9/2

The Rams were rampant at the start of the NFL season winning their first eight matches before losing to current Super Bowl favourites New Orleans Saints. In Todd Gurley they have arguably the best Running Back in the NFL and they have one of the best young coaches in the sport in Sean McVay. This along with their top 10 defence, if Jared Goff is firing they will be hard to stop. 

March – Native River to win the Gold Cup 

Best price 11/2, Worst price 4/1

Native River won the race last year and whilst history shows just how difficult it is to win the Gold Cup in consecutive years, if there is a horse that can do it it's this one. Colin Tizzard's eight-year-old stays all day and has shown no ill effects from last season's heroics, finishing in the picture in two high class fields already this season. This is the horse you want on side going up the famous hill in March. 

April – Jordan Spieth to win the Masters

Best price 11/1, Worst price 8/1

Jordan Spieth always turns it on for the majors, no matter what his form is going into it and at Augusta this is even more true. In his five attempts at winning the Green Jacket he has won it once in 2015 and his record the other occasions reads T2, T2, T11, 3. His record there is nothing short of freakish. 

May – Man City to win the Premier League

Best price 7/4, Worst price 6/4

Liverpool may be the form team at the moment but let's not forget it was only a few weeks back that Man City were odds-on for the title. The Reds haven't won the league for 27 years and this pressure will only increase as the season comes down to crunch time. Liverpool will likely go into the later stages of Europe as well as City, but Pep has a much larger pool of quality players to pick from. One injury to Salah or Van Dijk and Liverpool may unravel. 

June – England to win the Nations League 

Best price 2/1, Worst price 7/4

England might not have brought football home this summer but they have a chance to win the inaugural UEFA Nations League Finals next summer in Portugal. After coming through a group of Spain and Croatia, the Netherlands (who didn't even qualify for the World Cup) and one of either Portugal or Switzerland will be easy, right?

July – Federer to win Wimbledon

Best price 7/2, Worst price 3/1

So I may have called him aging at the start of this article and he won't have got any younger at this point, but you just can't ever write off Roger Federer, especially at Wimbledon. His game is so suited to grass and even if he doesn't have the legs he used to, his groundstrokes and serve are still immaculate. 

August – England to win the Ashes

Best price 21/20, Worst price 10/11

England will be out for revenge after being embarrassed down-under and if they can find the right balance in the batting order expect us to edge a tight series. The Three Lions have won the last four Ashes on our shores and it will be five from five at the end of the series. 

September – A.Zverev to win the US Open

Best price 12/1, Worst price 9/1

Zverev showcased his immense talent in the ATP Finals, dispatching Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in straight sets on the way to victory. By the time the US Open comes around at the end of a gruelling season youth will be on his side and he will have another season of experience under his belt to call on. 

October –  Enable to win the Arc

Best price 4/1, Worst price 3/1

The best filly in the world. Enable hasn't looked back since winning the Cheshire Oaks back in May 2017, winning nine straight races spanning three different countries. A win in Paris in 2019 would make it a hat-trick of Arc triumphs. If she turns up, she wins. 

November – Ireland to win the Rugby World Cup

Best odds 4/1, Worst odds 3/1

The Irish lay down a big marker for the World Cup against New Zealand in the Autumn when they beat the All Blacks comfortable by 16-9, not even allowing them to score a try. The boys in green have reached another level over the past couple of years and the fact they have beaten the favourites twice in their last three matches will hold them in great stead. 

December – Altior to win the King George

Best odds 6/1, Worst odds 4/1

Trainer Nicky Henderson has admitted this is the route he sees his superstar going down next season, and if all goes as planned I can assure you that 6/1 will not be there come December. The eight-year-old is unbeaten in his last 16 races and it is unlikely that run will come to an end anytime soon.
