Some bookies are now giving him a 92% chance of making the plane
Sheffield United shot-stopper Dean Henderson is the most backed player, out of any position, to make England’s Euro 2020 23-man squad.
The in-form keeper has received 15% of all bets in the market over the last 24 hours, just edging ahead of the second most backed, Jack Grealish, who has 13% of all bets.
That’s prompted bookmakers do decisively cut odds on Henderson making the plane, slashing odds from 3/1 into 1/4 best price.
However, a number of bookmakers have now cut odds into as short as 1/12 that Henderson is included this summer – which is an implied chance of 92%.
That now makes Henderson the third most likely keeper to be called up to Gareth Southgate’s squad, with only Jordan Pickford (1/14) and Nick Pope (1/10) ahead of him in the pecking order.
Elsewhere, Henderson is now ahead of other keepers like Aaron Ramsdale (4/1) and Fraser Forster (8/1).
Leading football stats site, WhoScored.com, revealed to Oddschecker that no goalkeeper has kept more clean sheets than Henderson (9) in the Premier League this season (level with Alisson and Nick Pope).
Only Alisson (87%) has a better save success rate than Henderson (78%) in the Premier League this season.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “After remaining with Sheffield United following a brilliant promotion campaign with The Blades last season, Dean Henderson has blown minds in the Premier League.
“The Manchester United loanee boasts the second-best defensive record in the division, and there's no question this form will have caught the eye of Gareth Southgate.”
