Sparta Prague vs Celtic - 17:55

Celtic are in action in the earlier kick-off - and majorly devoid of confidence.

A horrible spate of games for Neil Lennon’s side has seen pressure increase on the manager, with a 2-2 draw against Hibs at the weekend doing him no favours domestically.

The Czech side handed Celtic a humbling earlier this month, cruising to victory in a 4-1 thrashing at Parkhead.

Sparta Prague have been priced more conservatively this time around but present value at 8/5 best price to win.

Celtic’s main attention is the deficit they face in the league and a loss here would eliminate the Hoops from Europe, and more importantly playing on Thursday nights.

Rangers vs Benfica - 20:00

Whilst all seems doom and gloom on the Green half of Glasgow, it’s a much rosier picture being painted by Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.

An imperious defensive record and consistent scoring has seen them separate from Celtic domestically and pick up incredibly impressive results in Europe. Gerrard’s style of play seems custom made for European football, winning five straight in the competition this season.

Since joining the Ibrox side, Gerrard’s overall European record of 20 wins, 12 draws and just five defeats is impressive to say the least.

Benfica will be without Nicolas Otamendi following his red card in the first fixture, whilst Rangers look like fielding their strongest XI. Benfica will also be without at least five players due to COVID, with Adel Taarabt the latest ruled out. He joins David Tavares, Mile Svilar, Julian Weigl and Darwin Nunez.

Rangers are unbeaten in all seven of their Europa League group stage games over the last three seasons and I’m surprised they're odds-against at 7/6 best price.
