Euro 2021 Group C Prediction: Austria and Netherlands to qualify
With the Euros set to get underway this weekend, Group C looks a competitive if uninspiring collection of four teams.
The strongest team in the group, per bookies, is the Netherlands. Despite causes for concern in form (Steve Clarke snatched a draw against them last week), the squad does still boast talent.
The likes of Matthjis de Lift, Frankie De Jong and Memphis Depay should have enough to make it out of the group.
Bookies expect the second best team to come in the shape of Ukraine, but Austria could be worth considering.
They kick off their campaign with presumed whipping boys of the group, North Macedonia, with three points almost certainly securing them a place in the knockout phases.
Euro 2020 Group C preview: what the experts say
Mark O’Haire wasn’t particularly coy on the Netherlands on oddschecker’s Euro 2020 podcast, despite the side enjoying one of the most favourable draws.
Questions over management in the wake of Ronald Koeman’s exit persist, and O’Haire played down the Dutch’s chances under Frank de Boer.
Three home games in the group excited tactical expert Raj Chohan, who earmarked Memphis Depay (18/1) as a potential punt for Top Goalscorer.
WhoScored.com’s Martin Laurence echoed their sentiments, highlighting the fact the Netherland’s first choice goalkeeper Cillesen will miss out.
He fancies Ukraine to qualify from Group C.

The Netherlands are by no surprise heavily odds on to make it out of Group C, currently priced at 1/40 to make the knockout round.
Ukraine are next up in the betting, just ahead of Austria, priced at 4/11 odds-on to make it through the group stages.
The Austrians are available at 2/5 to make it to the next stage of the competition, whilst North Macedonia are the only side odds-against at 13/5.
