England, Croatia, Czech Republic and Scotland will face one another in Group D. Who will make it through to the knockout stages?
Euro 2021 Group D Prediction: England to win the group, Croatia to finish 2nd
England are heavily odds-on to qualify from the group and should coast through with no problems. Croatia are fancied to take the runner-up spot, with the straight forecast paying a best price of 2/1.
An ageing Croatia side coupled with a couple of retirements means they aren’t the as good as the side that reached the final of the 2018 World Cup. England, on the other hand, have an array of brilliant youngsters coming through who have the chance to light up the tournament. How far they go after the group stage is different matter, but England should win this group without much trouble.
England’s 1/2 price tag to win the group reflects the quality of their side. The defence is the main concern, as they look likely to be without Harry Maguire at the start of the tournament. Despite this, punters still think they will win the group, having taken 63% in this market through oddschecker.
Scotland are playing in their first major tournament since 1998 and given the format of the competition, there’s a good chance they could qualify. They’re a best price of 13/8 to qualify, and a victory against the Czech Republic may well be enough to get them into the knockout stage.
Czech Republic will have to face both Scotland and England in front of their home supporters which certainly makes things more difficult for the Czechs. The West Ham pair of Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal could make an impact, but it may well be a tough ask for them to make it out of Group D

Mark O’Haire of WeLoveBetting said: “This is England’s best chance to win a major trophy since 1966. You just have to look at the frightening array of attacking talent they have available to them. It’s just whether Southgate can unlock that attacking potential. I think they’ll go well but I’m not a backer at the price.
He wasn’t so keen on Croatia: “Croatia’s numbers have been pretty awful. Across 24 competitive games, they’ve lost nine of those – conceding an average of 1.62 goals per game, which is the worst of all 24 qualifiers.”
Martin Laurence of WhoScored fancied Scotland to qualify: ‘I fancy Scotland to beat Czech Republic, which may be enough but I also can see them getting a draw against Croatia. That will be my bet, I think they will qualify in third.

England are the clear favourites to win the group at 1/2 and are as short as 2/5 with some bookmakers. Croatia are next in the market at 10/3, well clear of both Czech Republic and Scotland.
Czech Republic are evens to qualify but punters are backing Scotland to make it out of the group at 11/8.
