Liverpool vs Chelsea Stats
- There have been under 2.5 goals scored in 7 of Liverpool's last 8 home Premier League games.
- Chelsea are undefeated in 9 of their last 10 away Premier League games.
Betting Tip: Draw
It should be a really intriguing clash at Anfield for the tea time kick off on Saturday as two sides who will have title aspirations meet. As you can see by the betting there’s hardly anything to choose between Liverpool and Chelsea and if both are to have a serious tilt at topping the tree then these games, albeit in the seasons infancy, are crucial.
Two of the top teams with two of the top managers in world football are meeting too and they’ve come through pretty much the same path. Both Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel cut their managerial teeth at Mainz 05 in Germany before moving on to Dortmund and then venturing off into the continent. They’ll know each other well and that, along with the well matched sides, could mean this one is a tightly fought battle.
With that in mind, it’s the draw at 5/2 (Betway) looks a bit too big to me. It could be a ‘must not lose’ mentality going into the international break and I’m pretty sure both managers wouldn’t be overly fussed if both take a point. Liverpool deserve maximum respect given their strong record against the big boys under Klopp, especially at a packed out Anfield, but on the other side you have Tuchel who got the better of elite managers time and again last season.
