Liverpool to win to nil vs Cardiff

With the exception of the Carabao Cup tie against Leicester that ended in a goalfest (4-3), Liverpool are usually watertight at Anfield. In the past nine games (excluding the Carabao Cup) they’ve conceded only two goals on Merseyside, amassing seven clean sheets along the way. Cardiff squeezed past Preston in the previous round winning 2-1 after extra time, a mammoth task awaits them at lunchtime on Saturday. The bluebirds are a side that are hovering above the drop in the Championship and the gulf in class will likely be too much for them to handle.

Senegal to lift the trophy

Senegal come into this AFCON final aiming to win the competition for the first time, meanwhile, the Egyptians will be looking to claim a record-extending eighth title.  Senegal battled past Burkina Faso (3-1) in the semi-finals while Egypt dispatched Cameroon on penalties. We expect a tight cagey affair for this one but surely fatigue is bound to play a factor for Egypt. They have gone the full 120-minute distance in all three of their knockout games.

Leicester to win vs Nottingham Forest

Leicester make the trip to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest and they should pose a tough challenge for Brendan Rodgers’ men. They boast a strong home record winning five of their last six with a notable win in the previous round against Arsenal. Leicester comfortably beat a struggling Watford side in the last round and they will be hoping they continue their quest to defend their title.

Bournemouth HT/FT

National League side Boreham Wood find themselves against Championship promotion contenders Bournemouth. They are full deserving of their place in this round amongst teams who are many divisions above them after a solid 2-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon. An upset would be an FA Cup fairy-tale but Bournemouth should be too strong on this occasion.
