Everton to win vs Palace

Frank Lampard’s men know that a win would secure their Premier League status for another season. I expect a cagey affair early on from the home side but with star man Richarlison up front I think they will be able to find a goal and squeak through with a tight win to secure the three points.

Chelsea to win vs Leicester

This is a dead rubber with both sides merely playing for position. Chelsea have already secured Champions League football for next season and Leicester are unable to catch West Ham for the final European spot. With the shackles off it could be an end-to-end encounter, in which I strongly fancy Chelsea to put on a showing in their penultimate home game at the Bridge this season.

Aston Villa to win vs Burnley

Burnley are down but not out just yet; they know a victory in this one would help massively in their bid for survival. If anything, they must avoid defeat, a point would see them go level with Leeds and leapfrog them into 17th position with one game remaining.

Their substantially better goal difference (-18) compared to Leeds’s -38 should help them in their survival tussle. However, the Clarets have not shown enough quality this season and I fancy Gerrard’s men to sign off with a win in their last game at Villa Park.

Hertha Berlin to win vs Hamburg

Hertha Berlin were moments away from avoiding this tie before Stuttgart struck deep into injury time against Cologne, confirming Hertha’s first appearance in the Bundesliga relegation playoffs since 2011/12.

All the odds point to a Hertha victory; only once in the last nine playoff games has the side finishing 16th in the league lost and therefore been relegated. Their home record against Hamburg makes for very pretty reading also, they have five of the last head to head’s at the Olympiastadion.
