Ireland to beat Armenia

The hosts don’t come into this one in the best of moods having failed to qualify for the World Cup. Despite successfully gaining promotion to League B in the Nations League, they have lost four of their last five matches. Meanwhile, Ireland are on an eight-match unbeaten run and will fancy their chances of slotting past an Armenian defence that has conceded 19 goals across those five games.

England to beat Hungary

England arrive at the Puskas Arena in formidable form both in terms of results and their goalscoring. The Three Lions have scored 35 goals across their last nine matches and next up they face a Hungary side who will not have their intimidating home crowd behind them. Gareth Southgate's side ran out 4-0 winners here last year and another away victory looks likely.

Germany to beat Italy

Since exiting the European Championship last summer, Germany have not tasted defeat and have won eight of their nine matches. They look as though they have a bright future under Hansi Flick and they’ll feel confident about piling the misery onto an Italy outfit that will be without a host of regular faces, have failed to qualify for the World Cup once again and who are coming off the back of a resounding 3-0 defeat to Argentina on Wednesday night. Germany can outclass a possibly deflated Italy outfit here.

Romania to beat Montenegro

Montenegro's recent form does not make for good viewing, having tasted victory just twice across their last 12 matches. They will be relying on their defence to remain resolute here but that could be a dangerous strategy as Romania have secured victory in three of their last five away Nations League fixtures. All of the last four meetings between these two have witnessed fewer than three goals and it’s likely that a single goal could clinch this one. Romania have the superior attacking threat and they seem the more likely of these two sides to get the win.
