Germany vs England Tips
Betting Tip: Germany over 1.5 team goals
Germany come into this one off the back of a 1-1 draw away to Italy in their first Nations League match of the new campaign and they were much the better side. The result didn’t exactly reflect the performance and using the eye test, Hansi Flick’s side should really have come away with a victory.
In typical Italian fashion, they were organised defensively and were able to prevent a decisive second Germany goal. However, the Germans should find more joy against the England backline when they welcome the ‘Three Lions’ to Munich. Gareth Southgate’s side were well below par in their last match against Hungary and didn’t really look like scoring in what was a laboured performance.
Better finishing from the Hungarians would’ve likely resulted in more goals and if there’s one thing Germany has, it’s potency in attack. I like what Flick is doing with this Germany side and whilst there are expected to be many changes to the England lineup, I’ll be having a point on Die Mannschaft scoring a couple of goals.
Betting Tip: Germany win & under 3.5 goals
There’s always a bit of bite when these two nations take to the field but they rarely feature a high number of goals. Four of the last five meetings have seen fewer than three goals being scored and even though I’d lean towards the hosts emerging victorious, I don’t see them doing so via a large margin.
Germany have responded well since being dumped out of the European Championship by England. Since then they’ve seen Hansi Flick take over the reins from Joachim Low and are currently on a 10-match unbeaten run. The boss has already stated that he wants his side to up the “tempo” when they go against England on Tuesday and they’ll be eager to avenge the loss they suffered last summer.
Germany have won all of their last four matches played on home soil and I think they extend that run to five here. They’re much more dangerous than Hungary and should be able to create enough chances to win, but I don’t see this match witnessing four or more goals. I’ll be playing Germany to win and under four goals in total.
