Spain to win by +3.5 goals vs Finland

Spain are the outright tournament favourites and come into their opening game in fine form after winning all six World Cup qualifiers, scoring 45 without conceding a goal. They hope to better their last two quarter-final finishes and win their first ever international trophy this summer but will have to do so without Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in training this week. They kick off their campaign at the MK Stadium on Friday night evening.

Finland are set to make they’re fourth appearance at the European Championships after enjoying an unbeaten qualifying campaign to top their group. However, they are in poor form running in to the summer after losing their two warm up fixtures vs Japan and the Netherlands. With an extremely tough group consisting of Spain, Germany and Denmark, the Fins face an uphill battle to get out the group.

Germanys to win vs Denmark 

Eight-time European champions Germany face 2017 Champions at the Brentford Community Stadium on Friday evening. The two sides meet once again after Denmark handed a humiliating defeat to Germany in the quarter-finals last time round.

They also had a mixed 2019 World Cup campaign, topping the group without conceding a single goal but fell to Sweden in the quarter-finals. They head into the tournament as one of the favourites but are in poor form, losing three of their last five games.

After reaching the final in 2017, Denmark hope to repeat their historic feat and go one step further and win the tournament outright. They come into the tournament after winning all seven of their World Cup qualifiers but lost to Norway in their most recent warm up fixture. That being said, the Danes will take encouragement into their game on Friday knowing they have scored in each of their last five games. 

Dundalk to win vs Drogheda United

Dundalk come into this fixture 10 points behind title rivals Shamrock Rovers, with two games in hand. They will be looking to win this fixture to stay in the title race and put pressure on the Reigning champions. They are in good form having not lost in their last 10 games but have a very poor disciplinary record with four red cards in their last 12. 

Drogheda on the other hand, sit 8th in the league and have not won in the last four matches after beating Shamrock Rovers 1-0 at the end of May. They won promotion back to the Premier Division in 2020 after relegation in 2017 and are hoping to break into the top five this year after a 7th place finish last year. 

Each side has won one a piece in their meetings this season with an aggregate score of 5-2 in Dundalk’s favour.
