England vs Sweden Tips

Betting Tip: Both Teams to Score

I'll oppose the market with my first pick. The prices suggest that both teams not scoring is being more favourably backed, however, I think there is value to be had.

Yes, it is a semi-final and it may be a tense occasion but looking at both of these sides and how their respective games have panned out, I quite like both sides to have plenty of opportunities to hit the back of the net.

England have been pretty ferocious going forward and look like a threat with each attack. In fact, the Lionesses have already scored 16 goals in this competition which showcases how potent they have been going forward. Now Sarina Wiegman’s side face a Swedish outfit who have been made to work for their place in the semi-final of this competition.

The visitors have to overcome resolute defences in this competition but they’ve found a way through each time. This will be the first game ‘The Blue and Yellow’ come up against an opponent who will look to play on the front foot and hurt them, meaning we could be in for an end-to-end match.

Value is key, and the value here for me is on both teams to score at over evens for a point.

Betting Tip: Sweden over 11.5 total shots

I’ll dip into the prop market with my second pick. I think the market is a bit skewed and an element of bias is the cause of that. A lot of people are expecting England to dominate proceedings once again but I think it will be a little more open than that and so I am very surprised to see the line so low for Sweden total shots.

I think Sweden represents a similar challenge to Spain and could be just as difficult and testing as ‘La Roja’. In the last round, Spain were able to register 17 goal attempts against England despite going ahead and having to defend for large parts.

England are the favourites and rightly so, however that brings an element of pressure to put on a show by committing numbers forward which ultimately can leave them quite stretched at the back.

We only need Sweden to have 12 shots on goal here throughout the match to cover this bet, which I think they can easily achieve.
