Football Accumulator Tips: Huddersfield vs Burnley to draw in Friday's 10/1 treble

Huddersfield vs Burnley - Draw

Huddersfield and Burnley will contest the first Championship game of the 2022/23 season at the John Smith’s Stadium. This will be Vincent Kompany’s first league game in charge of his new-look Clarets side as they look to start their bid to return to the top flight, following relegation from the Premier League last season, with a win over the Terriers. Huddersfield, also under a new manager in Danny Schofield, following Carlos Corberan’s resignation, will also be looking to make a positive start following their 2021/22 campaign, which concluded with a defeat in the Championship Play-off final to Nottingham Forest.

Both teams have had mixed results in pre-season, with Huddersfield winning two of their five games, whilst Burnley have won two of their three games. Huddersfield will not have the services of Lewis O’Brien or Harry Toffolo following departures from the club, as well as Levi Colwill who has returned to Chelsea, his parent club, following a one-year loan deal. Burnley will have to make do without Nick Pope, James Tarkowski, Ben Mee and Nathan Collins, as they departed the club on a permanent basis, and Wout Weghorst who joined Besiktas on a loan deal. Maxwel Cornet could also leave this summer, with interest from Nottingham Forest, Everton and Fulham.

With both Huddersfield and Burnley suffering a loss of core personnel in their squad and changes to their management teams, both teams may struggle to get started in their respective promotion bids, and we think Friday’s clash will end in a stalemate.

Legia Warsaw Win vs Cracovia Krakow

It’s 4th vs 2nd in the Ekstraklasa this Friday, as Legia Warsaw travel to Cracovia Krakow, both looking to maintain their unbeaten starts to the campaign. Cracovia have won their first two games, both with the score line of 2-0. Legia have four points from a possible six, drawing their opening game of the season against Korona Kielce and beating Zagłębie Lubin 2-0 at home.  

Both teams will be looking to improve on last season, where they finished 9th and 10th respectively. Legia Warsaw and Cracovia played on the final day of last season, with Legia winning 3-0, and the Warsaw outfit will be hoping for a similar result away from home to leapfrog Cracovia, and we think Legia Warsaw will take all three points away from home this Friday.

Borussia Dortmund Win vs 1860 Munich

The DFB Pokal kicks off this weekend, with Dortmund travelling to third tier outfit 1860 Munich in what seems to be a “David vs Goliath” esque affair. Dortmund will be looking to start life after Erling Haaland with a win in the German Cup, before they host Bayer Leverkusen in their opening Bundesliga game next Saturday. 

On paper, a team with England international Jude Bellingham, experienced German winger Marco Reus and new signing Karim Adeyemi, should be enough to help BVB progress to the next round of the competition. Last season’s Bundesliga runner ups will be without new signing Sebastian Haller, who has recently undergone surgery following a discovered testicular tumour.

Despite this, it looks highly probable that Dortmund will progress against the hosts, and we think Dortmund will win comfortably in their bid to reach the latter stages of the German Cup.
