Newcastle to beat Nottingham Forest 

For the first leg of the FavFour we are heading to St James’ Park, where Eddie Howe’s Newcastle host Nottingham Forest for their first Premier League game since 1999. Lofty expectations loom over the Toon Army this season, as they are widely expected to break into the top eight this season.

Steve Cooper’s Forest have been busy in the summer window making a massive twelve additions to the squad. We are backing Newcastle to get the win here and kick-off what should be a successful season for the side in Black and White. 

Burnley to beat Luton 

Vincent Kompany will get his first taste of league football at Turf Moor on Saturday as his Burnley side host Luton Town. The Clarets are at the top of the market for promotion this season and will need to make Turf Moor a fortress if they seek an immediate return to the Premier League. Kompany’s side opened their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Huddersfield, whereas Nathan Jones’s Luton Town were held to a goalless draw at home to Birmingham.

The Hatters impressed last season, finishing 6th in the league before being knocked out by Huddersfield in the play-offs. With the general improvement of quality in the league, repeating that feat or better will be hard for Luton and we think that Burnley will have too much quality for them on Saturday. 

Sheffield United to beat Millwall

Sheffield United are searching for their first three points of the season and will have to do it at the second time of asking after a narrow defeat to Watford. Under Paul Heckingbottom the Blades have made undeniable progress, and they’ll be on top form in front of the Bramall Lane faithful for the first time this campaign.

Millwall secured the three points on the opening day, with both goals coming from Creswell from a corner. But a midweek loss in the EFL Cup to Cambridge will have hampered momentum, plus fatiguing the squad for their trip up North. As long as United watch the set-pieces, they should be too overpowering for the Lions at the Lane with a win the only option.

Spurs to beat Southampton 

There’s been a lot of talk about Spurs and Conte potentially ending the season as best of the rest with the squad they’ve bolstered over the break. Southampton on the other hand could be in predicament for first game. Shane Long and Armando Broja have departed, while only Ligue 2 striker Sékou Mara has been brought in to replenish the forward line; unless he hits the ground running, goals could be a problem. Between Kane, Son, Kulusevski and Richarlison, the sheer quality will be too much for Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side, and the Spurs should go marching on past the Saints.
