Liverpool vs Crystal Palace Tips

Betting Tip: Liverpool win to nil

Liverpool were beaten to the title on the final day of last season, but they were excellent throughout and they would’ve been keen to carry that momentum over into the new campaign. But a 2-2 draw away to Fulham in their opening match was somewhat less than ideal. However, they now return to Anfield where they went unbeaten last term and conceded just nine league goals in total - the fewest in the division.

The hosts will be without the likes of Thiago, Konate and Jota for this encounter but Jurgen Klopp’s side still possess quality in abundance. They will also feel confident given their exemplary record against the ‘Eagles’, having managed to score in all of the previous 20 meetings.

Liverpool have not lost their first home league game in any of the previous 18 seasons and have won their last nine in a row. They’re watertight on home soil and if they can nullify any counter-attacking threats, they should be able to secure the three points by way of a clean sheet here.

The visitors had their moments against Arsenal in the opening match, but struggled to find ways through and I think they’ll struggle to fashion any real chances here when they come up against Van Dijk and company.

I’ll take Liverpool win to nil for a point.

Betting Tip: Mo Salah to score two or more goals

Last season’s golden boot winner has looked lively again this season and was able to get on the scoresheet during the 2-2 away to Fulham last time out. Now he will face another London-based outfit,  in the shape of Crystal Palace, but this time it will be in front of the kop.

The winger has a pretty strong record against the ‘Eagles’ and he should get quite a few opportunities. He’s scored seven and assisted six goals in just ten appearances against Crystal Palace and I would not be surprised to see him bag a brace here.

Arsenal had a lot of joy coming in from the flanks against Palace and had plenty of chances to extend their lead. If Mo Salah gets those opportunities, he takes them and that’s what I can see happening here. He will also be on penalties which is an added bonus as the ‘Reds’ were awarded the third-highest number of spot-kicks in the league last term with a conversion rate of 87.5%.

At 4/1, I'll have half a point on Mo Salah slotting at least twice.
