19:45 Tuesday
Chelsea to beat Southampton
Following a mixed start to the season for Southampton, they currently sit in 13th position ahead of the arrival of Chelsea to St Mary's. They were narrowly beaten by Manchester United last weekend, after picking up all three points against out of form Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. Their comeback from two-nil down to take a point against Leeds highlights the potential they have to upset the bigger teams.
Chelsea will be in a spirited mood following their 2-1 win against Leicester, especially when they were down to 10 men for 62 minutes of the game. Raheem Sterling scored his first two Chelsea goals against the Foxes and will been looking to add to his impressive performance last Saturday.
The return of Mateo Kovacic was also a much-needed boost for Chelsea, after he came off the bench to help the Blues see out the win against Leicester on Saturday. Chelsea have won their last three games against the Saints in all competitions and are likely to win again on Tuesday night.
20:00 Tuesday
Leeds United to beat Everton
After an impressive 3-0 win against Chelsea the weekend before last, Jesse Marsch’s side were brought back down to earth after losing 1-0 to Brighton last Saturday. They currently sit on seven points after an impressive start to the season, which Leeds will be happy with after the near miss with relegation last season. They come up against an Everton side who have struggled this season, and also was near the foot of the table last season, only just avoiding relegation with a game to go.
Everton are yet to win a game this season, but have picked up back to back draws, at home to Nottingham Forest and, most recently, away to Brentford. They’ll be looking to pick up their first win since the win against Crystal Palace last season, which secured their status in the Premier League.
Everton currently sit in 18th place and while it is very early doors, Frank Lampard would be looking for some more points on the board to avoid a similar story to last season. Given their superior form so far this season, we think Leeds will edge the tie on Tuesday.
19:45 Tuesday
Burnley to beat Millwall
Burnley won their game against Wigan at the weekend in emphatic style, scoring five against the Latics on Saturday. The Claret’s second win of the season took them up to 6th, which will give them a major boost of confidence ahead of the visit of Millwall, giving Vincent Kompany and his side the chance for back to back wins for the first time this season.
The visitors arrive to Turf Moor on Tuesday night without a win in their last three games, losing both of their last two to Norwich and Reading at The Den. Gary Rowett’s side will be looking for a response after two losses on the trot if they want to improve their positioning in the table and move on into the top half of the Championship table. Burnley seem a tough ask for Millwall to avoid defeat, however, and we think the hosts will prevail.
19:45 Tuesday
Norwich to beat Birmingham City
Struggling Birmingham, who are currently sitting in 21st, will be looking to get points on the board, after losing three of their last four. They lost away at unbeaten Rotherham last weekend and haven’t won since beating Huddersfield at St. Andrew’s.
Norwich, on the other hand, are currently sitting in a playoff position in 4th. Josh Sargent helped them pick up all three points at Sunderland last weekend, meaning they’ve won their third consecutive game in the league this season, as they look to return to the top flight. Sargent has four goals in those wins and Birmingham will need to watch out for him. We think the visitors will continue their winning run and take all three points from St Andrew's.
