Spurs vs Fulham

This weekend, goals are likely to be harder to come by for Fulham (six in the last three) as they take on Antonio Conte’s Spurs who sit in the top three for lowest expected goals conceded – behind only City and table toppers Arsenal.

Brentford vs Leeds

Brentford, meanwhile, take on a Leeds side who have surprised a few with their defensive resilience under Jesse Marsch. They are averaging just a goal a game conceded (five in five), including a 3-0 win over Chelsea, having shipped 79 in their 38 league matches last season.

Chelsea vs West Ham

Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea are the shortest priced favourites across the six 3pm Premier League kick-offs at a best price 4/7, but they have been far from free scoring at Stamford Bridge in recent times.

They beat bottom of the league Leicester 2-1 in their last home league game but haven’t scored over two league goals in a home league match at Stamford Bridge since beating Leeds 3-2 in December 2021 – a match which featured two penalties for Jorginho.

Forest vs Bournemouth

The big anomaly for total goals across the last two gameweeks was, of course, Bournemouth’s 9-0 hammering at Liverpool which cost Scott Parker his job at the Vitality Stadium. However, ‘whipping’ boy status for the Cherries could take a pause for a week as they take on Steve Cooper’s much-changed Nottingham Forest who have managed a league low two goals in five matches so far.

Wolves vs Southampton

Generally speaking, Wolves games are a good bet for ‘unders’ markets. Their 38 league matches last year featured just 81 goals in total – fewer than any other team in the league. Bruno Lage’s side have scored just twice in five games, while their last four have featured three goals in total.

Newcastle vs Crystal Palace

The final match between Newcastle and Crystal Palace is perhaps one of the riskier selections for this under 3.5 goals acca, as Crystal Palace have shown up really well from an attacking standpoint since blanking in the Premier League curtain raiser against Arsenal – they found the net twice at the Etihad, three times at home to Villa and were good value for a score draw at Anfield.

However, you have to go back to November 2015 (5-1 Palace win) for the last time this fixture saw over 3.5 goals. In fact, a both teams to score bet on this fixture would have failed in eight of the subsequent 11 meetings between the two sides.
