Tottenham vs Marseille – Tottenham to win

Tottenham have won all their games they have played at home this season and look to continue their good form against Marseille. Both sides are yet to lose in their respective leagues this season and it could be a tight affair at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This will be Tottenham’s first time back in the Champions League since being knocked out in 2020 to RB Leipzig. There is the potential for Antonio Conte to rest some key players with a trip to the Etihad Stadium on the horizon, but Conte will be keen to kick their Champions League campaign with a victory.

As for their French opponents, Igor Tudor’s side have played in the Champions League more recently than the hosts, appearing in the UCL group stages in 2020/21. They are in fine form this season, winning their last four games. Alexis Sanchez, former Arsenal player, will be unable to play against Tottenham after being sent off last season for Inter Milan. Dimitri Payet is also a doubt, so Marseille will be without those two as they travel to North London.

With this in mind, and the quality and experience Tottenham possess, we think the hosts will win comfortably.

Inter Milan vs Bayern Munich – Bayern to win

The two teams who contested the 2010 Champions League final, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich, face off at the San Siro. Bayern are unbeaten in the Bundesliga this season and currently sit in 3rd in the table, after drawing successive games to Union Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach. They did hit Eintracht Frankfurt for six in their first game of the season, which caught the eye considering they had just won the Europa League in the previous campaign.

Inter Milan, on the contrast, have lost two games to their city rivals, AC Milan, and Lazio, but remain unbeaten at home. The derby defeat last Saturday was a tough one for Simone Inzaghi’s men and will be looking to bounce back in what could be a famous win against the Bavarian giants.

Following the departure of Robert Lewandowski, Bayern will be hoping new signing Sadio Mane will make the difference on Wednesday nights game, which we think Bayern will come out of with a win.

Napoli vs Liverpool - Liverpool to win and BTTS

Napoli and Liverpool lock horns in Naples on Wednesday evening, in what could be an interesting encounter. Napoli came back from a goal down to claim all three points at the Stadio Olympico against Lazio and are currently sitting in second place after an unbeaten start to the season.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have had a somewhat indifferent start to the season. They hadn’t won in their first three Premier League games, losing to arch rivals Manchester United in the process. They recently drew 0-0 to their Merseyside rivals Everton at Goodison Park and despite the 9-0 thrashing of poor Bournemouth, have struggled this season. It took a controversial 98th minute winner to collect all three points against Newcastle, and they haven’t hit top form as they have done in previous campaigns.

We think there’s a good chance that Liverpool win dig in for the win in Italy, but they won’t be able to keep a clean sheet at a raucous Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, as we think both teams have the quality to score on this occasion.
