Ipswich Town vs Bristol Rovers – Ipswich Town

League leaders Ipswich Town host Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night and Kieran Mckenna will be hoping for more of the same. The Tractor boys have had an excellent start to the season and are one of only two teams in the league yet to lose a game. They have the best defensive record in the league, second best attacking record and have kept four clean sheets from seven games.

Bristol Rovers have had a steady start to the season with three wins to their name. They are unbeaten in their last two and will be hoping to extent that run when they visit Portman Road on Tuesday evening. However, with the start Ipswich have had to the season and the home advantage we expect them to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Charlton Athletic vs Forest Green Rovers – Charlton Athletic

Charlton welcome newly promoted Forest Green Rovers to the Valley in the second leg of Tuesday’s treble. The Addicks have had a slow start to the season with three draws in their opening seven and currently sit 12th in the league, three points off the play-offs.

Their best performance of the season so far came when 3rd place Plymouth visited almost a month ago. They put on a dominant display at the Valley and ended up winning 5-1. Garner will be hoping his team can repeat this feat and extend their unbeaten run at home to four games.

Forest Green won promotion last year and immediately lost Rob Edwards to Watford. They have had a tough start to the season, losing four of their opening seven games and currently sit 21st in the league.

Rovers have won two games this season with one win coming on the road away at Bristol Rovers. We expect Charlton may be too strong at home this year and the Addicks to extend their home run is the play in this one.

Lincoln City vs Derby County – Derby County

Newly relegated Derby County visit Lincoln City in our final game of Tuesday’s treble. The Imps have had a slow start to the season, with four draws and two losses so far. They currently sit 20th in the league and have the fourth worst defensive record in the league and third worst attacking record. Their only league win of the season so far came almost a month ago away at Oxford United with two losses and a draw since then.

Derby will be disappointed with their start to the season having invested in several Championship quality players in the summer. They have only won three of their opening seven and currently sit 9th in the league, six points off the top. The Rams were early favourites for promotion after being relegated from the Championship in controversial fashion.

After Rooney left for the US, they have had quite the rebuild and have brought in players like James Chester and Conor Hourihane, who are considered top level players in the Championship and add real quality to their squad.

Although they have had a slow start to the season, we think they have too much quality not to win this one against a side struggling to get off the ground this season. Derby to win on the road is the choice here.
