The oddschecker team have picked out a 9/1 Friday treble covering action in the UEFA Nations League.
Germany vs Hungary – Germany Win and Both Teams to Score
Hungary travel to Germany in the penultimate Nations League game (League A Group 3). Germany come into this game off the back of their 5-2 win over Italy in their last Nations League game, in which Timo Werner scored a brace. Hansi Flick will be without experienced goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and Leon Goreztka, who are both ruled out following positive COVID test results.
Hungary are currently a single point above the Germans after beating England twice, with their most recent game against them finishing 4-0 in their favour. If Hungary win on Friday, and Italy fail to beat England, they will go into the Nations League Finals, as none of the teams below them will be able to catch them.
The most recent game between them ended 1-1 in Hungary, and Germany have scored and conceded in every game they have played. In front of the German faithful in Leipzig, we think they’ll be able to help Germany get over the line in this one, so we think Germany will win with both teams scoring in this one.
Italy vs England – Under 2.5 goals
England come up against Italy once again following their narrow defeat against the Italians in Euro 2020. Italy drew 0-0 against England the last time they played but were battered 5-2 in their most recent Nations League game back in June at the hands of Germany. They’ll be looking for a response in Milan to move them away from the group relegation spot, which England currently occupy.
England have had an extremely disappointing Nations League campaign, scoring only one goal in four games, which was a late Harry Kane penalty against Germany. They were humiliated last time out against Hungary, suffering a heavy 4-0 defeat which left Southgate with a problem to sort before the Three Lions kick off their 2022 World Cup campaign in Qatar.
If England lose the game, they will be relegated from League A of the Nations League, which will not bring positivity to the start of their World Cup campaign in November.
The last time England played Italy which ended with more than two goals in the game was in the 2014 World Cup Group Stages, where Italy beat England 2-1 in the opening group game in Brazil.
Since then, they have played each other four times, with all of them ending in draws and under 2.5 goals scored. We think the Italian defence will nullify England’s dire attack once again, leading to a low scoring game in Milan, hence why we back under 2.5 goals to be scored.
Bosnia-Herzegovina vs Montenegro – Both Teams to Score
Elsewhere in the Nations League, Bosnia-Herzegovina host Montenegro in League B Group 3. The Bosnians won their last game in Group 3, seeing off Finland 3-2 thanks to an Edin Dzeko brace. That result put them top of their group with eight points, and they can secure promotion to League A if they can see off Montenegro and win.
As for Montenegro, they will need to avoid defeat away from home in order to keep up their chase of securing promotion to League A. They beat Romania 3-0 in Bucharest in June thanks to a Stefan Mugosa hat-trick, and will look to him again to help them hold their own against Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The last time these teams played finished in a 1-1 draw, and with Bosnia scoring in every game so far, we think both teams will score once again on Friday night.
