Spain vs Switzerland – Spain

Spain are top of the group with two wins and two draws and welcome a Swiss side who are fighting for survival. The Swiss remain within one point of the Czech Republic and have everything to play for at the Estadio La Romareda on Saturday evening. Spain are also only point ahead of Portugal in the group and they play them in the final group game that could decide who proceeds to the finals.

The last Spanish come into these fixtures in good form and are unbeaten in eight. Their last loss was against France in the last Nations League final. The Swiss won their last Nations League outing against Portugal but lost their last meeting against Spain three days prior. With Spain’s superior squad and good form, we expect the same result this time round.

Scotland vs Republic of Ireland – Scotland

Steve Clarke’s Scotland have got three games in this round of fixtures to make up games lost with Ukraine. They came out as comfortable 3-0 winners vs Ukraine on Wednesday night, with a Lyndon Dykes brace cementing victory. They have won three of their four games so far and are on track to be one of the teams promoted from League B should they continue with this good form.

They welcome a Republic of Ireland team who are still in touch of relegation and will be fighting to stay in the group. The last time this fixture was played, Ireland came out as 3-0 victors in Dublin and they will be hoping for the same result. However, they visit a hostile Hampden Park and face a Scotland team brimming with confidence after scoring seven in their last two. With Scotland’s form and their home advantage, we predict Scotland win this one.

Czech Republic vs Portugal – Portugal

Portugal remain in contention to win the group and must win vs Czech Republic to set up a winner takes all match vs Spain in the final game. Portugal lost against Switzerland in their last Nations League game, and they will be looking to put that right when they visit Prague.

Czech Republic are looking down the other end of the table and like Portugal may have an important game vs Switzerland to decide who is relegated from the group. The Czechs don’t come into game in form and have only won one of their last six games. The last time these two sides played, Portugal came out as 2-0 winners after a dominant display which only saw the Czechs have one shot on target. Although they are playing in Prague this weekend, we expect more of the same and a comfortable Portugal win.

Serbia vs Sweden – Serbia

Serbia are still in the hunt for promotion and a win against Sweden would put them on equal points with Norway. They will be hoping Norway slip up against Slovenia so they can play head-to-head to decide who gets promoted but should Norway win, they will be the ones promoted. The Serbs are unbeaten in three and have been in fine goal scoring form, scoring seven in that time. They also have star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic firing on all cylinders and will be hoping he brings his Premier League form into the business end of the Nations League group stages.

Sweden are another team still at risk of relegation and have it all to play for. They have a better team then Slovenia, who they are competing with for survival, but only points will help either side stay in the league. The Swedes have lost three on the bounce and have looked very open at the back in that time. We think with Mitrovic in top form, he will have a huge impact on this game and will help lead Serbia to victory.
