Nottingham Forest vs Aston Villa Tips

Betting Tip: Over 2.5 Goals

Nottingham Forest arrive here off the back of a humiliating 4-0 defeat and it marked the fourth consecutive game in which over 2.5 goals has landed.

Improvement is desperately needed as the hosts sit bottom of the table and are conceding 15 shots per home game on average. They’ve conceded in seven of their eight Premier League matches and it seems somewhat unlikely that they’ll keep a clean sheet here.

Aston Villa have problems of their own but have at least scored in three of their last four away games across all competitions. They’ll be confident they can do so again here considering the hosts have faced the most shots and most shots on target in the Premier League this term.

I don’t trust either of these two defences, and I think we could be in for a high-scoring match. The last time these two met was in the Championship in 2019 which resulted in a 3-1 win for Aston Villa, the reverse fixture that season was a 5-5 draw at Villa Park.

These two outfits are both desperate to put points on the board but with their respective defences being utterly woeful, i want to be on the side of goals and the even money for over 2.5 goals is the standout pick.

Betting Tip: Aston Villa Over 11.5 Fouls Committed

The visitors top the charts for average fouls committed per away league game, committing 14 on average each time they take to the field.

Steven Gerrard’s side likes to play with a high intensity and be first into a challenge, however, it means they often leave referees no choice but to blow the whistle time and time again.

The Villans have committed at least 12 fouls in all but one of their Premier League outings this season with the only time they failed to cover that line being against Manchester City at Villa Park.

Nottingham Forest need to go for it and they need to get points quickly. Steve Cooper has just signed a new deal, and I think that could alleviate some tension and we’ll see some good moments from the hosts. It will be a fiery match with both teams gunning for a win, and I like the even money on the visitors covering the foul line.
