Graham Potter makes a quick return to his old club, only this time as manager of Chelsea and anything but a warm applause for him from the Brighton faithful would be somewhat surprising.

The visitors were able to end Salzburg’s 40-game unbeaten home run during the week and that also extended Graham Potter’s unbeaten record as manager of the Blues.

It should be a fascinating clash stylistically but considering Roberto De Zerbi is still searching for his first win in charge of Brighton, the visitors will be confident of grinding out a victory.

Should things go to the wire, Chelsea will have no reason to fear as no Premier League side has scored more goals in the final 15 minutes of matches than they have. Looking at the expected goals metric, Brighton have been underperforming and that will be a concern. 

In the four games since that remarkable 3-3 draw with Liverpool, Brighton have scored just once and only kept a single clean sheet which came against Nottingham Forest. Whilst it may be an emotional return for Potter, I like the price on Chelsea returning to London with all three points and will back them for a point.

As poor as Brighton have been in a goalscoring sense, they’ve been a fun side to watch and the way they play would suggest they should win a fair amount of corners.

In fact, 74% of their attacking play comes down either flank and it’s this style that has seen them awarded an average of 7.40 corners per game at the Amex Stadium this season.

The Seagulls have won the corner count in all five of their home contests in the Premier League this term after taking 37 overall and facing just 10.

I’m expecting Chelsea to take the lead at some point but these Brighton players have a point to prove and Roberto De Zerbi will ensure that they look to play on the front foot.
