Football Accumulator Tips: Tuesday’s 7/1 Treble featuring Bayern Munich vs Inter Milan

Viktoria Plzen vs Barcelona – Barcelona

Xavi’s Barcelona were dumped out of the competition last week and will be playing in the Europa League for a second consecutive year. The Catalan club will be hugely disappointed and will be looking to win the competition as a minimum, Xavi’s job could be on the line if they don’t. 

They visit Viktoria Plzen in their last game of the group stages and they will hope to finish strong. The current Czech league leaders are without a loss in their domestic season but have lost all five of their Champions League fixtures. The last time these sides met, Barcelona ran out as 5-1 winners and have conceded four in five of their Champions Leagues games so far, so we expect a heavy defeat once again. 

Liverpool vs Napoli – Napoli 

Group leaders Napoli visit Anfield in the second leg of a Tuesday treble and we expect a heated affair. Both teams are already through to the knockouts, but Liverpool will be hoping to stop Napoli’s winning run in the group stages.

Liverpool have struggled for most of the season with injuries and their league form has definitely been affected. They sit 9th in the league and have most recently been beaten by Leeds at Anfield.

Napoli will feel this is a great time to visit Anfield and will feel more confident than ever before. They sit clear at the top of Serie A and remain one of the only teams in Europe to remain unbeaten. The last time these sides met, Napoli came out as 4-1 winners. Although we don’t think Liverpool will lose heavily in front of a home crowd, we do think Napoli will be too good for them on the day. 

Bayern Munich vs Inter Milan – Bayern Munich 

Both team in this one are through to the knockouts so don’t have too much to play for apart from bragging rights. Bayern have won the group pretty easily and will be looking to make it a clean sweep and win all six games. They have struggled for consistency in the league but have been formidable in this competition, only conceding two goals whilst scoring 16. 

Inter have struggled a bit this season. They sit 5th in Serie A and have drawn one and lost one in the Champions League. Despite this, when they get going they are a very dangerous team and can beat anyone. However, the last time these sides met at the San Siro, Bayern came away as 2-0 winners. Now at home we can’t see anything other than a Bayern win.
