Football Accumulator Tips: Thursday’s 8/1 European Treble featuring Arsenal

Feyenoord vs Lazio – Lazio 

Group F is shaping up to be a very close affair with all four teams still with a chance of playing in Europe in the new year. Lazio currently sit top and are in pole position to progress to the knockouts, with the winner of Sturm Graz vs Midtjylland going into the Conference League. 

As it stands Feyenoord will be knocked out of European competitions and will need to win vs Lazio to have any hope of playing in Europa again this season. The Dutch side haven’t had the best year. They sit 5th in the Eredivisie and have only won one game in Europe this season. This being said, they come into this game in solid form with only one loss in their last five league games, so they will fancy their chances. 

Sarri’s Lazio have been excellent this season and are well within the hunt for Champions League football next year. The Italian side have only lost two league games all season and have the second best defence in Serie A. They currently sit top of Group F and are in thee driving position to progress and we think they’ll so just that. The Italian side have too much quality within their ranks and we think this will shine through.

Arsenal vs Zurich – Arsenal  

Arsenal are having their best season in years. They sit top of the Premier League and have already qualified for the next round of the Europa League. They welcome a struggling Zurich side who sit bottom of the Swiss Super League and have already crashed out of Europe with only one win to their name.

The last time these sides met, Arsenal came away as 2-1 winners, and we expect the same again. Although we think they will play a much-changed team to give players a rest, we don’t think they’ll struggle to pick up the win at the Emirates. 

Lech Poznan vs Villarreal – Villarreal  

Lech Poznan sit 8th in the league and look unlikely to retain their Polish title. They have struggled for large portions of the season and can’t progress to the knockouts of the Conference League after Villarreal solidified their spot. 

They welcome a Villarreal team who have just lost their manager Unai Emery to Aston Villa a season after reaching the Champions League semi-final. They have struggled a bit in the league but remain within touching distance of the European places. They have breezed through the group stages with four wins and a draw and we expect them to do the same again here. A Villarreal win for this one.
