Lorient vs PSG – PSG  

The Parisians are comfortably top of the league and are yet to lose a game all season. They have been formidable going forward all season, with their star front three performing at an unprecedented level. They have won four of their last five games in the league, scoring 10 goals whilst keeping three clean sheets. They visit a Lorient side who are in good form themselves. They sit 4th in the league and remain well within the mix to qualify for the Champions League. They started incredibly well but have seen their form slow down in recent weeks, going three games without a win. For this reason we think PSG will win this one quite comfortably. 

West Ham vs Crystal Palace – West Ham 

After a terrible start to the season, David Moyes has got his side playing again and his summer signings are starting to show their worth. After sitting around the relegation zone for several weeks they are now only five points off the European places. Their form has been abit patchy of late with two wins and two losses in their last five, but they will feel like they have been unlucky not to come away with all three points on numerous occasions. 

They welcome a Palace side who have played some expansive attacking football under Patrick Vieira this season, but have struggled to pick up points and convert performances. They have started grinding out results in recent weeks and have now won three of their last five. Despite this, we think West Ham will perform in front of a home crowd and will come away with all three points. 

Southampton vs Newcastle – Newcastle 

A struggling Southampton who sit only one point above the relegation zone welcome a high flying Newcastle side who are well within the mix for Europe and have won four of their last five. We can only see one winner here and that goes to the toon army. Eddie Howe’s side are playing some great football and look like they cant be beaten. They opened up Aston Villa’s defence at the weekend and put them away with relative ease without several of their big summer signings. With one team struggling at the bottom and one team flying at the top, there is only one winner here. 

Freiburg vs Cologne – Freiburg 

The Bundesliga is having a very open season this year and Freiburg are one of the surprises of the season. They sit third in the league, only two points off the top and are looking very likely to qualify for Europe this year. Although they having had the same attacking quality as those around them in the league they have been incredibly hard to beat and have only lost two games all season. 

Cologne have had a polar opposite season, seen their goal bombarded and have one of the worst defensive records in the league. They sit 11th in the league, only five points of 5th place Frankfurt so their season could still become positive. They could be looking to win this game and make a real statement to those at the top to look over their shoulders. However, this looks unlikely and we predict Freiburg will continue their good run of form and continue to put pressure on Union Berlin and Bayern Munich.
