Football Accumulator Tips: Wednesday’s 4/1 Treble backs City to beat Chelsea

Arsenal vs Brighton – Arsenal 

Arsenal are looking like the team to beat this year. They sit at the top of the Premier League and have just beaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to really make a statement this year. Mikel Arteta’s focus will be on the league but he will still want to bring silverware to North London, so we can see him playing a strong side with a couple of changes here and there to keep his best players fresh. 

Brighton struggled for a bit after Graham Potter left for the Bridge, but they have seemed to stabilise in the last few weeks and maintain their position in the top six. Despite this, we think Arsenal are in too good of form to be beaten and the Gunners will breeze through to the fourth round. 

Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham – Tottenham 

Antonio Conte’s Spurs side visit struggling Nottingham Forest in this cup tie and we could see this one causing an upset. Forest have really struggled in the league but have put on good displays on many occasions. They have been unlucky not to come away with points on several occasions.

Spurs haven’t been good either. They have struggled all season to really get a good run of form together but have had the ability to grind out results. And we think they’ll do it again. We think Forest will come close but in the end we think Conte’s men will do what they do best and edge by. 

Man City vs Chelsea – Man City 

Last year’s finalists visit the Etihad in a tough game to try and go one further this year. They visit City in poor form, having not won in four league games and dropping to 7th in the league. They have lost two on the bounce and look to be struggling to really get a good run of form together.

This being said, they have played both Arsenal and Man United in that time but Potter will feel frustrated that they are not competing at the top. This is probably the worst time for them to be visiting city, but anything can happen in cup football. 

City will come into this game with eyes on the trophy once more and will see Chelsea as a necessary hurdle to get over. They are second in the league and are keeping the pressure on Arsenal at the top, waiting for them to slip up.

They haven’t looked as formidable as they have in recent times but have been grinding out results. We can see them just edging this and getting one step closer to reclaiming the cup.
