The oddschecker team have picked out an 8/1 Tuesday double covering action in the World Cup.
15:00 Tuesday
Morocco vs Spain – BTTS
The Spanish looked like early contenders to win the whole thing after their 7-0 demolition vs Costa Rica in their first game but have shown they are more than beatable and have weaknesses that can be exploited.
Morocco are many people’s dark horses this year. After a solid group stage which saw them finish top of Group F, above 2018 finalists Croatia and Belgium, the North African side will come into this fixture with ambitions of another World Cup upset. Led by Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech, they have some serious quality within their ranks and are more than capable of causing Spain problems.
The Spanish looked really strong vs Costa Rica, reverting back to their tika-taka days of old. However, when coming up against for physical and well organised teams, the young side seemed to struggle. This one could go either way.
The Spanish could take control of the game and pass Morocco off the park, or the North African side could bully the young Spanish side and cause an upset. Because it’s such a toss-up, we’ve gone for both teams to score in this one.
19:00 Tuesday
Portugal vs Switzerland – Granit Xhaka to be shown a card
The Portuguese have looked good throughout the tournament but have shown they are beatable in their game vs South Korea. Similarly, the Swiss have looked solid throughout and showed their character to come from behind to beat Serbia.
A lot of this is due to their star midfielder, Granit Xhaka, who has become a real leader within the Swiss ranks. The Albanian born midfielder scored a stunning goal to help his team into the knockouts and really battled in the midfield. He plays with his heart on his sleeve, which can often get him into the book for Arsenal.
Given the size of his next assignment, we can see him doing this again. He comes up against a very talented Portuguese midfield who will look to draw him into challenges so a Xhaka booking is the play here.
