Football Accumulator Tips: Saturday’s 8/1 FavFour featuring Championship leaders

Burnley vs Middlesbrough – Burnley 

The Clarets are top of the Championship and look likely to be within the mix for the title come the business end of the season. They are also one of the league's in form teams, having won four of their last five. Vincent Kompany will be looking for a win to cement their position as league leaders on Christmas Day.

Middlesbrough visit Turf Moor in fine form themselves. They have gone unbeaten in their last five, winning four and look like they are finally finding their feet this season. They sit only four points off the play-offs so will be looking at this game as a vital fixture to close the gap on those above.

This being said, we think Burnley are playing the better football at the moment and will be helped by a home crowd. A Burnley win for this one.

West Brom vs Rotherham – West Brom 

After a terrible start to the season which saw them in real danger of relegation, the baggies sacked Steve Bruce and have turned their fortunes around.

They have gone on a four game winning run and now find themselves only eight points off the play-offs. They will be looking to make it five wins on the bounce when Rotherham visit the Hawthorns.

In fact, we think they’ll do just that. Rotherham, although on the same points as West Brom are on a completely different trajectory and have lost three of their last five games. They have been struggling to pick up points on the road all season and we think this will continue against an in-form Baggies side. 

Wycombe vs Ipswich – Ipswich 

Ipswich are flying high at the top of League One and look a certain at this stage for promotion, albeit there’s a long way to go. Although they are away from home they come into this game as the heavy favourites and will be looking to make it nine games unbeaten in the league.

Their form has slowed down slightly in recent games, but luckily for them so has their rivals. They will be looking to win this one to extend lead at the top.

They visit a Wycombe side who are only two points off the play-offs and will be looking for a way to close the gap. Gareth Ainsworth’s side have won two of their last five games and will be looking for a good second half of the season to challenge for promotion. However, we think Ipswich will be too much for them on the day and the Tractor Boys will extend their lead at the top.

Plymouth vs Morecambe – Plymouth 

Plymouth are hot on the heels of Ipswich and will be hoping they slip up vs Wycombe. They remain only a point off top and will be wanting to overtake their promotion rivals to go top for Christmas day. Like Ipswich, their form has slowed down in recent weeks, with four draws in their last five and they will be looking to get back to winning ways. 

We think they’ll do just that as they host bottom of the table Morecambe, a side who have only won two games all season. With the Shrimps in such poor form, we can’t see anything other than a Plymouth win here, albeit we don’t think they’ll go top in time for Christmas.
