Football Accumulator Tips: Tuesday’s 6/1 Carabao Cup Fourth Round Treble

Newcastle vs Bournemouth – Newcastle 

Before the break for the World Cup, Newcastle were trotting along well and were one of the most in form teams in the league, with five wins in a row. They host fellow Premier League side Bournemouth in the fourth round (last 16) of the Carabao Cup.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, struggled before the break – recording four losses in their last five league games to leave them only three points off the drop. 

Although it has been a fair few weeks since these side have played competitive football, we still think Newcastle will come into this with more confidence. Their players will have had time to rest and come back from injuries so they should have an even healthier squad than before. 

We think Howe will see this competition as a chance for silverware for Newcastle so they will be playing a strong team. A Newcastle win for this one. 

MK Dons vs Leicester – Leicester & Under 2.5 Goals 

Unlike Newcastle, we don’t think Leicester will be putting out too strong a team vs MK Dons and will rely on second team and youth players to get the job done. 

Nonetheless, we do think they’ll do just that. They have turned their league form around with four wins in their last five so come into this with confidence. 

MK Dons, by contrast, are struggling at the bottom of League One, two points off safety in 22nd place. They have won only once in their last five and face a difficult task in hosting a Premier League side. 

We think they’ll be focusing more on league survival so a few key men may also be missing. Because we think teams will be changed we see a low scoring affair. Leicester to win and under 2.5 goals is the play. 

Southampton vs Lincoln City – Southampton 

Another Premier League vs League One affair in our Tuesday treble sees Southampton host Lincoln City. 
Lincoln are faring better in League One than MK Dons, remaining in touching distance of the play-offs but we still don’t see them causing too many issues for the Saints. 

Southampton have been struggling for most of the season, losing their last three league matches including the first for new boss Nathan Jones at Anfield.

They remain two points off safety and will look towards this game to kick start the second half of their season. We think they’ll do just that and play a strong team. A home win for the final game of our treble.
