Football Accumulator Tips: Saturday's 14/1 FavFour for the FA Cup Third Round

Brentford vs West Ham – Brentford

The first leg of the FavFour is an all Premier League tie between Brentford and West Ham.

Brentford have been in great form since the restart having drawn against Spurs, before beating West Ham at the London City Stadium. Despite an injury to top goalscorer Ivan Toney, they were then able to comfortably beat Liverpool 3-1 last time out.

West Ham have been in awful form and just hover over the relegation zone in the Premier League. If the Hammers do progress they will also have to contest with European games as well, with David Moyes’ team still in the Europa Conference League.

We expect West Ham to put out a much-changed side and Brentford to still play a fairly strong team, so we are predicting a Brentford win.

Luton Town vs Wigan - Luton Town

Many feared the departure of Nathan Jones to Southampton could mean Luton Town’s charge to the Premier League would stop but since the appointment of Rob Edwards, the Hatters have gone from strength to strength. They currently occupy 7th in the Championship and have won their last three games on the bounce.

Last year in the FA Cup Luton made it all the way to the fifth round and only lost 3-2 to eventual finalist Chelsea; they take this competition fairly seriously and we expect them to field a strong side.

They face a Wigan side who are yet to see victory under new manager Kolo Toure. The Latics do have history in this tournament having won it in 2013 but they are struggling this season and sit bottom of the Championship.

We fancy the good times to keep on rolling at Kenilworth Road and Kolo Toure to still wait for his inaugural win as Wigan manager.

Crystal Palace vs Southampton – Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are coming off a thumping 4-0 defeat against Tottenham but they face a struggling Southampton side in the third round of the FA Cup.

Palace were able to make the semi-finals last year and will be hoping that another cup run could be in order. Patrick Vieira has come under fire from some sections of fans questioning if he is the right man to progress the club forward and after such a heavy defeat will hope his players can respond with a comfortable win on the weekend.

Southampton are struggling at the foot of the Premier League. The Saints’ last league win was back in October and they will surely prioritise the league over the FA Cup. We fancy Crystal Palace to win at the weekend and Southampton to make a swift exit from the FA Cup.

Chesterfield vs West Brom – West Brom

National League side Chesterfield host Championship side West Brom at the Technique Stadium on Saturday.

Chesterfield have won their last three games and will come into the game showing no signs of fear having beaten League Two opposition AFC Wimbledon in the previous round.

They face a West Brom side who have started to find their feet since the dismissal of Steve Bruce and the appointment of Carlos Corberan. The Baggies have only lost two games since the Spaniard’s appointment. They will most likely rotate fairly heavily against their opponents this weekend but should still have enough quality to get by.
