The oddschecker team have picked out a 7/1 Thursday treble covering action from the Premier League and Coppa Italia.
17:00 Thursday
Fiorentina vs Sampdoria – Fiorentina
The first game of our Thursday treble has relegation threatened Sampdoria visit Florence. Sampdoria are currently 19th in Serie A and look like one of the teams most likely to be relegated this season. They are the clear underdogs coming into this game, losing four of their last five games in the league and we can see the same happening again on this visit.
Fiorentina are currently 9th in the league and have outside hopes of qualifying for European football this year. To do so they will need to get in a good run of form in the second half of the season and with three wins in their last five they will feel confident coming into this . A home win for this leg.
20:00 Thursday
Fulham vs Chelsea – Fulham
Our second game is a West London derby between a struggling Chelsea side and an over performing Fulham team. Many thought before the season started that Fulham were almost certain to be relegated once again. Fast forward several months and Marco Silva’s men are going strong and are sitting pretty in 7th in the league.
In contrast, Chelsea are having a dreadful season and are finding Graham Potter’s new philosophy tough to grasp. They sit 10th in the league and man fans have already started to call for the former Brighton manager’s head but the new owner looks set to stand by his man and the new long term project.
Coming into this game, Chelsea look a shadow of their old self. They have only won once In their last five games and they have really found it hard to pick up points on the road of late. Fulham on the other hand are flying. They have won three on the bounce and are playing with a real confidence about them. Because of this, we think a home win in this West London derby.
20:00 Thursday
Roma vs Genoa – Roma
The final leg of our treble has Jose Mourinho’s Roma hosting Serie B side Genoa. Roma are currently sitting 7th in the table, are in the mix for Europe once again this and are one of the favourites to win the Coppa Italia this season.
Genoa are currently 3rd in Serie B and are competing to win promotion back to Serie A. Although they have been playing well in the league we can only see one winner in this one. Mourinho is a master in cup competitions and will set his team up so they are hard to be beaten. We don’t think it will be the prettiest win in the world but we do think they’ll get it done and progress to the quarter-finals.
