Football Accumulator Tips: Wednesday’s 4/1 Treble backs in form Man Utd

Sporting Gijon vs Valencia – Valencia 

The first leg of our Wednesday treble focuses on La Liga side Valencia’s visit to Segunda Division side Sporting Gijon, and we expect it to be a pretty straight forward win for the away side. 

Valencia are competing around mid-table in La Liga but should they win their game in hand on those around them, they will be knocking on the door of the European places. Granted they don’t come into this fixture in the best form, with only one win in their last five, but they have a much better side than their opponents and should show their class. 

We don’t see Sporting Gijon putting up too much of a fight either. They currently sit 15th in the Segunda Division and will be focused on not being dragged into a relegation scrap. An easy Valencia win for this one. 

Leeds vs Cardiff – Leeds 

The second leg of our Wednesday treble sees Premier League side Leeds United host Cardiff City in the third round replay of the FA Cup. The first leg of this fixture ended 2-2 after Leeds came back from two goals down to score a 93rd minute equaliser. Cardiff will feel hard done by after putting in a solid shift, however,  an 80th minute Joel Bagan red card changed the game. 

The return leg of this fixture will be played at Elland Road and we expect Leeds to take full control. Not only will they be in front of a home crowd, but they will be looking for a response after losing to Aston Villa at the weekend despite a dominant display. Jesse Marsch will be looking for a response from his team and we think he’ll get it against Cardiff. Leeds to progress into the fourth round for this one. 

Crystal Palace vs Man United – Man United  

The final leg of our Wednesday treble features one of the Premier league’s most in form teams, Man Utd. Erik ten Hag’s men have now won nine games in a row since losing 3-1 to Aston Villa back in early November and topped that off with a controversial 2-1 win vs City at the weekend to take them only a point off 2nd place. Palace stand in their way next and we think they’ll continue their good form. 

Palace have been good at times this season but have really struggled to maintain consistency, finding it difficult against the top six all season. We think Vieira’s men will put up a good fight, but ultimately Utd will go into their title clash against Arsenal at the weekend with 10 wins in a row under their belt.
