Both sides enter this clash having been forced to tend to their wounds after they suffered derby day defeats at the weekend. Neither are in the best of form and both will see this clash as a huge opportunity to get their respective seasons back on track.

Although they have struggled lately, Manchester City will welcome a return to home soil given that they have successfully hit the back of the net in all nine league games at this venue and given the fact Spurs have conceded in six of their nine away games, and in both of their road matches against sides currently in the top four, Manchester City look primed to get on the scoresheet.

However, Pep Guardiola’s side have looked anything but watertight and even the returns of Ruben Dias and John Stones may not have an immediate effect as they begin to build up their match sharpness. They have also conceded in six of their nine home games. They’ve conceded in five of their last six league outings and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Ederson picking the ball out of his net once again here.

Both teams to score looks a standout pick for this Thursday night clash.

Betting Tip: Heung-min Son to score anytime

I do expect Spurs to get on the scoresheet and I'm also going to look at a potential goalscorer for the visitors.

Manchester City have struggled to deal with quick and direct runners and I think whilst Heung-min Son has not hit his usual heights this season, he will cause plenty of problems to this struggling City defence.

Harry Kane will obviously occupy the thoughts of the City backline, but that can play to the South Korean’s advantage and he has an excellent record against the Sky Blues. In 15 appearances against them, he has 10 goal involvements, scoring seven goals and registering three assists.

It looks as though young Rico Lewis could be deployed at right-back for the hosts and as impressive as he has been, Heung-min Son will fancy his chances of getting the better of him and at 6/1, I’m happy to have a small play on the 2020 FIFA Puskás Award winner grabbing himself a goal.
