20:00 Monday

Two entertaining sides do battle on Monday night and Spurs will be looking for improvement after conceding four second half goals to Manchester City on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fulham will be looking to win a third straight home match and after dispatching Chelsea 2-1 in their last home game, you wouldn’t be surprised if they topple a Tottenham Hotspur team completely out of form.

Fulham vs Tottenham Hotspur Stats

  • Nine of Fulham’s 10 home league outings have witnessed at least three goals
  • Tottenham have conceded at least twice in nine of their 10 league matches but Fulham have conceded in eight of their 10 home league fixtures
  • João Palhinha has committed at least two fouls in four of his last six league appearances

Fulham vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction:

Betting Tip: Over 2.5 goals & both teams to score

Goals look to be the way to go when these two London based outfits go head-to-head at Craven Cottage on Monday night.

Across the top five leagues in Europe, Fulham have participated in more games that have featured three or more goals than any other side. The majority of those matches have come on home soil with nine of their 10 league games at this venue witnessing over 2.5 goals land.

No side has conceded a higher expected goals (xG) than Fulham (36.1) and they do give you plenty of chances and it seems hard to think we won’t see Spurs try to bounce back after their midweek collapse away to Manchester City and end up taking a couple of those chances.

But the Cottagers are also excellent going forward and they rank seventh in terms of goals scored. They have successfully hit the back of the net in nine of their 10 home league games and given how poor Spurs have looked at the back, Fulham should contribute to the score count.

Both are much better going forward and I like goals here so over 2.5 and both teams to score looks a good play.

Over 2.5 goals and BTTS - 1.5pts @ 20/21

Betting Tip: João Palhinha 2+ fouls committed

I’m a huge fan of João Palhinha as he is the perfect player to have when you want to win the ball back and have a shield in front of you. He’s strong in the air, an exceptional tackler and can read the game before it even unfolds.

He’s averaging 4.72 tackles per game and he can be a thorn in the visitors side all night long. A potential battle with Pierre-Emile Højbjerg looks to be a fascinating encounter and with this match looking likely to have periods where it’s played with a high intensity, I like the look at fouls.

Anything but a Spurs win will pile further pressure onto Antonio Conte and I think a committed Spurs midfield and front line will look to dominate proceedings. However, they won’t have it all their own way and could look to utilise their pace and direct style on the break.

João Palhinha will look to sniff out any signs of danger but he can be a bit overzealous and I think the 22/25 available on him committing at least two fouls looks a great bet.

João Palhinha 2+ fouls - 1pt @ 22/25
