RB Leipzig vs Man City – Man City win

Manchester City travel to Germany for their Round of 16 first leg against RB Leipzig, playing them for the second season in a row.

RB Leipzig had a patchy start to the season, winning just two of their first eight Bundesliga games, including losing both of their first two Champions League games, but have bounced back magnificently, losing just one game since September in all competitions. Leipzig beat Man City the last time they played in this stadium by the scoreline of 2-1, and we could see a similar result here.

Man City drew against Nottingham Forest in their last outing, right after beating league leaders Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, and have shown signs of inconsistency as of late, but they come into this game unbeaten from the group stage.

We think both sides have to quality for it to go either way, but we think Pep will be keen to grab an early advantage to take back home with them for the second leg.

Inter Milan vs FC Porto – Inter Milan win

The Jose Mourinho derby sees Porto travel to Milan to face Inter, with this being their first meeting since 2005.

Inter have won 11 of their last 12 home matches and made it through to the knockouts at Barcelona’s expense. They will be slight favourites for this one against the Portuguese playing in front of their own crowd in the first leg.

Porto topped a group with Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen to set up this tie, despite losing their opening two Champions League games, including a heavy 4-0 defeat to Club Bruges. They have bounced back and are unbeaten in 22 games going into this one, dating back to October.

Two in form teams clash at the San Siro, and we think the home team will take this one.

Accrington vs Bolton – Over 2.5 goals

The final game from our Wednesday treble sees Accrington face off against Bolton in the Papa Johns Trophy semi-final. When these sides in League One back in October, Bolton turned around a two goal deposit to win 3-2 at the Wham Stadium. Hopefully another five goals can be on the cards, and we think there could be.

Accrington ended a five game winless streak with a win, whereas Bolton ended a five game winning streak with a defeat, so both contrasting results to what their form before the weekend had suggested.

With this in mind, Accrington will be buoyant and Bolton will be looking for a reaction, and what better way to do that from the front foot, which is why over 2.5 goals could be a possibility at the Wham Stadium for the second meeting between these sides this season.
